Yeah, I mean, I recognize he's the #2 QB and him leaving *could* affect the team, but I don't think it would in the long run. If he were contributing weekly in game play it would be different.

Agreed. Espn had his stats at 14 attempts for the whole year. That loss would hardly break the back of this offense.
Does he get a covid year? Because this is his third year. And with Rattler not sniffing a draft position, his choice may be to come back and ride the bench while he finishes his degree vs going out to look for playing time.
Ridiculous. He IS the starter next year if Rattler leaves. One injury this year, and he IS our starter now. Losing him would be a HUGE setback.

If I were Joyner I would have transferred after that bowl game. I'm not saying he's all that. But he could fit another scheme better whether that's as a QB or WR.
As a player Doty is not elite. It been stayed by former P5 coaches that Doty lacks the ability to be a top level SEC QB. I'll take there word over yours. Of Doty finds it in his best interest to leave . Best of luck O don't understand why you or any fan would want Doty thrust in this mess with Satterfield
What I would actually like to see is Shatterfield fired, and us running a real offense. I also said Doty might need to transfer down a division if he wants to play. After watching our team this season, do you really feel like the coaches have a solid grasp on what a real offense should look like? I know they are high paid coaches, but our offense ranks among the worst in college football so I don't see how they could be considered experts either. When you can sit on the couch with no coaching experience and diagnose the play before it happens, there's a problem.
You would think Joyner would have earned something better in this offense following the Mayo Bowl. He definitely could be a key piece somewhere else.
Doty had a conversation with the staff 3 weeks ago about redshirting this year unless Rattler went down with an injury. Counting his extra covid year plus this redshirt year, if Rattler returns next year, Doty can still be QB1 in 2024 & 25. This has been posted and posted yet people keep asking about Doty. He’s good with this scenario.
One should truly hope that players are not taking transfer advice from a fans message board.
And if Rattler does go down we have a backup QB who has played all of 10 -15 snaps to come in and save the day. That's really thinking it through and being prepared.
So you're saying if we play him in cleanup duty, it is ok for him to give up a whole year of starting ?
Don't the rules allow a player to play in a certain number of games and still preserve his redshirt?
