Just because there was a guilty verdict doesn’t mean SLED didn’t make mistakes, thru most certainly did. I thought all along he was guilty but the states evidence left doubt for me. Sled should be scrutinized here.
they were so sloppy I wondered if they were trying to help Alex

Thanks. That was quick.
As a former Jury Foreman several times, I can tell you it may have been decided much quicker than 3 hours. The jurors may have decided in half that time and decided to wait for appearances sake, collect themselves, say goodbyes, and then summon the clerk to notify the judge.

Saw one article that said they came to a consensus after 45 minutes.

Let this be a lesson to folks: if you're a lying thief with no morals or integrity and deplorable character, you may just end up getting convicted of murder.
I wish. This would be a much better world without all the trash plus all politicians would be gone. Win win

I thought the destroying of the blood stained shirt evidence was definitely someone on the inside trying to help him.
Hard to believe it was a stupid mistake!
Among the most egregious mistakes was not sealing off the main house from traffic....Should have tested the shower for blood but didn't and allowed Bianca the housekeeper plus JohnMarvin to enter the house numerous times.

One juror said when they first went into the room…there were 2 not guilty votes and one undecided. It didn’t take the others long to switch these folks votes. I really thought it would be a hung jury.

Guilty verdict. But SLED crime scene is a freaking JOKE. Like anyone and everyone was let in to trample all over the place- while it was being “processed”.

I think it was CCSD that did that. Not positive. SLED didn’t arrive onto the scene for a minute. CCSD was first on the scene and should have secured it much better. But your point is valid. There are a lot of teaching moments SLED has from this one.

Sorry I brought up that JUSTICE was done PREVIOUSLY in ANOTHER Southern town. What was I, a good ole white Southern born and raised country boy, thinking? Sheesh. There's always one in a crowd. SMH
Nope. You're not wiggling / word salading your way out of this.....

*YOU BROUGHT UP RACE* - when you mentioned 'white men' and a 'black jogger.'

Again, only racists bring up race. Every time. // You want racism to end? Stop talking about it. If you want to be blistered again, respond again....

Say whatever you want. This is all I will say about this: My response was to Anon who stated it was "Refreshing to see justice alive and well somewhere these days. Proud it was South Carolina". Evidently he did not know of or forgot about what happened in Brunswick, Georgia in 2021. I was either informing him or reminding him of that event, The only way to do that was how I wrote it up as I did, to make my point that justice was done elsewhere outside of South Carolina. As I said, this is all I will say about this. You obviously have mental health issues. I hope you get some help.

Did they ever explain why they did the murder trial prior to the financial crimes trial Would have avoided the potential for a overturning the verdict due to the judges decision to allow the allegations of financial crimes to be used in the murder trial.

Yeah, you're right.

Saying : "Remember in Georgia when those 3 men hunted down that jogger and murdered him?" "They too were found guilty of murder."

That's apparently too hard to say without brining race into it. <smh>

It has been my contention all along that Alex and Barrett Boulware had money hidden away somewhere....Note that BB "gave" gave the land in Moselle to Alex for a pittance..Must have been Alex's share in something..After giving away the Moselle property BB still had enough money to buy Buckeye Ridge,,4700 +- acres.I'm surprised we haven't heard more about this connection, although BB is deceased still seems something the Feds should have been digging more into.

Agree. The guy is just evil. There's a charm about him that I can see allowed him to con people. The jury took a few hours to determine whether he was guilty as hell or just guilty. His new crew cut haircut will never be exposed to freedom, thankfully. Hope he gets used to prison food, after dining out at the most expensive restaurants.

Read an article on the family's past. Weird stuff.

Murdaugh's great grandfather, who established the family's legacy, died in a mysterious train accident. The train driver said he saw Murdaugh waving as the train approached and then sped his car into the train's path.

Some kid was found dead on the road near their property. There were rumors of a relationship between him and Buster Murdaugh (the lone remaining son). It was ruled a hit and run (hit in the head by a semi mirror) but the family has never accepted it, as he had no other abrasions and his clothes were not distressed.

There was the boat incident we all know about.

The housekeeper.

Then, obviously, Alex.

In the ensuing appeal(s), I would expect Murdaugh's team to build a strong case against all the tracking data. Using that to support the murder verdict requires making a great deal of assumptions.

If they honestly look, they will find plenty.
PI hired by Smith's mother found quite a bit needing further investigation.

I think his motive was equally about protecting his dope dealing lifestyle as much as the money drying up scenario.

If you consider 10 miles down country roads to be "near" the property I guess. From the reports I saw, sometime before 4:20 a.m. he was struck on Bamburg Highway. The same forensic pathologist in the Murdaugh trial said it was a hit and run and that he was struck in the head most likely by a tractor trailer mirror. About three miles from the scene the police found his car. It would not start and he had left the gas cap open. Sounds like he ran out of gas, was walking down the road to get gas or help and someone not half paying attention didn't see him and hit him and drove off. One of my very good friends had this happen where he was driving down an asphalt road on his way to work at about 5:00 a.m. and hit someone, who was wearing dark clothes, walking down the middle of the road. In trying to console my friend, the police officer said this happens more than you think. As to rumors, there were rumors that the kid was on tinder or some other dating app a lot looking for hook ups. How many people are killed annually by some stranger they were meeting through those apps.

The whole out of gas scenario doesn't add up. First off, who runs out of gas then gets out of the car to open the gas cap and just leave it open? Secondly, his wallet was left in his car. So he ran out of gas, opened the cap, then started walking to a gas station without his wallet?

He was also found in the opposite direction of the closest gas station. If he did run out of gas, i think it's plausible that he called someone to come help him. Potentially Buster. And when he came to help, he took that opportunity. There no reason the cap is off unless someone was getting ready to put gas in it. And if someone was getting ready to put gas in it, doesn't make sense for him to be walking to a gas station, without his wallet. It's just not a logical scenario.
