I love scUM preaching not a rush to judgement and let all the facts come out. Yet they were leading the charge with pitchforks and torches to get Joe out. Practice what they preach? Nah only when it benefits them...

Due process...is that a catch phrase for let the investigation continue thru the season? No one uses "due process" more than a criminal defense attorney.
This isn't a criminal case (yet). It's more like a civil matter. I think we know where the preponderance of evidence leads.
If this were a case against an individual defendant, then I could buy the due process argument. In this case, the preponderance of evidence clearly leads one way as you correctly point out. The burden is on Michigan to explain itself right now, or the hammer should come down.

I expect nothing, therefore I won’t be disappointed when little or nothing is done. Commissioners are hired to keep things harmonious and peaceful, not to kick the hornets nest. But every fiber in me wishes that I’m wrong. Wishing and expecting are polar opposites.

The FBI is investigating something. They don't make charges in civil cases. There is a lot going on with the investigations that we have not hear yet and that is the only reason the NCAA and the B1G are responding so quickly. It should be interesting.

My question is, if a team is cheating, are there some actual laws that are broken because of gambling?

A team no, it’s not a waging entity. If players or coaches used this information in placing wagers then yes. I cite Pete Rose as example A. Merely as to the proceedings and outcome not his culpability.

The FBI is investigating what to date has been labeled a different matter. Alleged 🖥 related crimes by a fired Assistant Coach.

Of course, if they dont play Penn State and Ohio State, how impressive is their resume? They've beaten the hell out of a bunch on non-ranked teams. Other teams would have more opportunities to impress and pass them in the CFP rankings.

If Michigan doesn't play Penn State, then we are 100% out of playoff contention. That would remove the only remaining possibility of getting a win against a good team and boosting our playoff resume, and removes the 3 way tiebreaker possibility. That game is very important for us too. The committee isn't putting in an 10-1 PSU team that lost it's only game against a good opponent and didn't win the East or the conference.

Definitely, refusing to play hurts us both and we still have a ton to play for. No need for spite holdouts just yet.

So let's play and win.

Michigan fans seem to think this totally changes the narrative.

Since there are so few details provided in it, it doesn't change anything. And even if details were provided, that would be (possibly) grounds for a separate B1G and NCAA investigation. Even if this is 100% factual, it changes nothing relative to Michigan.

It doesn't change anything as far as the NCAA goes but if I'm the Big Ten Commissioner using the common sense part of my brain I'm questioning the motivations of those grieving coaches from the meeting last week. Looks like fair play and the safety of their players may in fact not be the primary motivation here. Surprise, surprise, surprise. The league is a cesspool and everyone is complicit

The B1G will do what it does best- protect one of its favored programs.

We should refocus on what WE do best-constantly undermining and criticizing OUR coaches, players, and program.

My excuse making skills are at the ready.

It would really shake things up if they suspend Harbaugh and make them ineligible for postseason play. However, we know the B1G is as greedy as it gets, so that isn’t likely to happen for their own selfish interests.

Nothing in there says those signals were illegally obtained via advance in person scouting or by use of electronic equipment. UM has failed to grasp that these are the elements making their situation illegal for weeks. Yes, everyone tries to steal signs during the game they are playing in and they may even have a designated sign stealer on the staff for this purpose. Not everyone does what UM is accused of doing. The only thing even worth considering here is the possible collusion accusation as that would likely go against the spirit of competition and might result in a punishment. But would they punish every team in the conference? Were opposing coaches fed up with UM's illegal sign stealing operation which brought about the collusion as a way to try to negate the competitive advantage UM was getting?

I'll wager $10 on Hairball getting suspended for their upcoming game @ Maryland.

"...released by the NCAA, throughout the investigation into the University of Michigan football program, Connor Stallions was identified as the central figure in command of the sign stealing scheme and for illegally observing matches of other teams and the team’s opponents. Stallions has been suspended by the Michigan football program."

There you go, all resolved. That bad Stallions guy did bad things, but he's gone now. Time to move on.

So Stalions and Blake Corum are apparently business partners. Nothing to see here, I'm sure.

Again, you may want to let this play out. Just saying.
Coach Matt Weiss got fired for screwing with campus computers and is being investigated by the FBI. Remember Glenn "Shemy" Schembechler in May? Or Harbaugh suspension to start the season? Or Stalions suspended then resigning amid allegations? All of this within a year.

Yeah, let it play out tool. Lack of institutional control.
