I’m just kind of digging into this. It seems completely legitimate that this guy was doing this at the demand of the program and that another program (Western Michigan) was complicit in this. Does this raise issues with the gambling aspect? If I bet on team X and Michigan presented an unfair competitive balance, could I rightfully sue and win?
To me it's as serious as a point shaving scheme. It impacts score and possibly W-L.
Suspension seems like such a meaningless punishment. So Harbaugh misses a few tunes up games against Eastern Paducah State? How about eliminating some of the coaching and analyst positions for UM? Considering it WAS an analyst at the center if this it would seem appropriate.
