Well it is something we are used to. People forget under Pry we lost 4th quarter leads in huge games multiple times making the QBs look like the second coming or Joe Montana down the stretch. Please no. I hope he doesn’t hide under the table at crunch time like he did at NC State
Miami fans? Are they as "smart" as our fans? Not excited @ all about this hire. He has the same bad tendencies as Pry's defenses: ill-timed blitzes and poor in the red zone end of games. Miami fans indicate his defenses were not good against the run. If true, that compounds the concerns.
I think anytime you have a successful coordinator, you're at risk of losing him. If you're not one of the big boys, you may lose him to one of them. If you are one of the big boys, programs looking for a HC will come calling. If you want to have a coordinator in place for a long time, hire an aging veteran (Don Brown, anyone?) or shoot for a guy who is going to be good, but not good enough to have other opportunities.me too, though suspect if he smells success he’ll get offers and leave.
A nice mix of change and continuity. Balance. It's a great time to be a Penn Stater!
Less than one day after Texas gave up 550 yards on the ground to BYU in a 40-21 loss, Longhorns defensive coordinator Manny Diaz is out of a job. Head coach Mack Brown announced Sunday in a statement that Diaz had been removed in just his third year on the job.
"Our performance on defense last night was unacceptable, and we need to change that." Brown said.
Texas Longhorns Head Coach Mack Brown Fires Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz
The debacle in Provo has claimed its first victim. Less than one day after Texas gave up 550 yards on the ground to BYU in a 40-21 loss, Longhorns defensive coordinator Manny Diaz is out of a job...syndication.bleacherreport.com
Good enough to beat Kenny Pickett on the road.he’ll fit right in given our recent suckitude at crunch time
As long as he brings the tradition of the “turnover chain” with him, I fine with it
You picked that up! Knew you were smart!!!Can't spell analytics without ANAL!
Do they still do that LAWN. BOYZ. horse-a$$? I didn’t see it this season.
U are probably Correct most likely 100% correct.....difference is Dabo has been very successful and gets the benefit of the doubt...If Clemson had hired Diaz, posters here would be saying "why can't Franklin get a guy like that?"
Mark Few is now with the PSU basketball program?Manny is called. Few are chosen…..something like that.
And Clemson didn't hire him, neither did Venables at Oklahoma (PSU fans will love that hire).U are probably Correct most likely 100% correct.....difference is Dabo has been very successful and gets the benefit of the doubt...
The alums I've met are pretty smart. Their non-alum fans never seem to be sharpest knives in the drawer.Miami fans? Are they as "smart" as our fans?
I don't know a lot about Diaz. Has he not surrendered 4th quarter leads? Does he make opposing QBs look more like Joe Mantegna?Well it is something we are used to. People forget under Pry we lost 4th quarter leads in huge games multiple times making the QBs look like the second coming or Joe Montana down the stretch.
Wasn't there a Miami guy who found his way to this board a couple of years back? I can't recall his handleThe alums I've met are pretty smart. Their non-alum fans never seem to be sharpest knives in the drawer.
However, there are so few of them the collective stupid level isn't high
No way they’re letting Mason get out of Auburn after their defensive performance against Alabama.Great hire , JF probably had Knowles atop his list but went to Ohio St. With the need for a LB coach Manny fits the bill.
I was thinking Mason at Auburn but his strength is the secondary , with Dex and Smith we're established there already. Elijah Robinson great recruiter but as a DC that' a big gamble.
Yeah, looking at his history he appears to have about a 2-3 year lifespan before shifting jobs.me too, though suspect if he smells success he’ll get offers and leave.

Soft coach, bad recruiter. What could go wrong?
even if he does well, he will be here 2 years tops.
I see what you just did there.Mark Few is now with the PSU basketball program?
