As compared to non-vacuous jibberish? You see, it's either jibberish or it is not. 'Vacuous' is assumed when it comes to jibberish. Therefore, the phrase 'vacuous jibberish' is redundant.
Realistically how many random people other than you know that. I’m not unfortunately hanging around Nobel Prize Laureate's. I bet if they get slammed with a “vacuous jibberish” that would give them reason to pause. Around 7:00 PM tonight the first person that introduces a topic better duck.

Would assume the position coaches and Franklin do the majority of recruiting with OC and DC involved mainly as closers. Also assume the D will be coached collaboratively as James said during interview on Friday. Same approach being used on O. Everyone has input, coordinators make the final decision with override possible by JF.

As I understand it, Allen as a DC is more of a CEO type. He doesn’t get into the weeds of X’s and O’s.

If true, I’m ecstatic that our players will be receiving a proper executive overview rather than a low level introduction to defensive strategy. This truly befits our standing in the academic World.

Not necessarily so. It could possibly be an attempt to enhance the jibberish he is speaking of to the point that it is not just the common variety jibberish but jibberish to the nth degree jibberish. At any rate, at the very least, take it as an endeavor to encourage vocabulary improvement for those questioning the use of vacuous, vacuously speaking of course.

Northwestern played PSU physically….Indiana repeatedly played dirty.

I can see how you, as a Franklin apologist, would love this hire…complete with warts of unsportsmanship prevelant under Buck Toothed Tom from IU. 🙄
So when a coach you like plays hard, it’s playing physical. But when it’s a coach you don’t like, it’s playing dirty? Got it.

Well, maybe he can breathe a little emotion into Franklin on the sideline, he’s pretty much an emotion-free zombie.

Wait, never mind, I forgot all his spitting 😵💫!
But when he does show emotion (like in 2016) posters like you slam him for being too emotional and not head coach worthy. Make up your mind for God’s sake.

Caught off guard on his hire. Never impressive , talked to Indiana people , happy he is gone. DC already on your staff, AP. Hope the kids like him.

Was looking for Dan Connor to be LB coach. Time will tell.
And how happy will they be when PSU beats their a$$ with Allen as the DC? The fact that Indiana beat PSU once during Allen’s tenure should be enough to make them happy…I mean, it’s Indiana football, what do they expect?

There are no other posters “like” me.

AND

I’ve never slammed him for being too emotional. I’ve slammed him for poor game planning, making irrational decisions and poor clock management. But never for being too emotional.

Go back and watch the games/replays. You are welcome to have your selective version of reality.

Indiana, under Tom Allen, was an incredibly dirty team.

Perhaps James is desperate enough to hire such an individual. If he does, it certifiably degrades PSU football

Ultimately, it’s all on James.

Let's just agree Franklin has never made any decision that is to the benefit of Penn State football and has failed at all levels. Starting with his failure to blow up balloons at kid's parties and continuing with his play calling, hiring and firing of assistant coaches, recruiting/not able to recruit HS players and his management of the portal.

I think once we all agree on this, we can safely move forward in this world.

As a lifelong PSURO follower, it is a delight to see him back on the boards but I would be remiss not to reminisce about the earliest content that dominated his posts

BW Lion says smart things plus if he was truly elite, Saban would have snagged him as an analyst by now. If JCF is truly in the 7th inning of welcome here at PSU, then this hire will become the third strike...the Gopher OC (1st) and then MY (2nd). MY was gone before Ryan Day sat down at Urban's desk for crying out loud. I love me some Penn State football but I am sorry, Allen is NOT a step towards elite.

Essentially what?

Essentially what?
Fans are essential for eye balls.....without eyeballs no ratings...without rating no TV revenue...without TV revenue schools can't pay $8 million for coaches, can't pay 700 million to stadium rehab, can't afford planes and helicopters to fly coaches around ...can't afford alternate uniforms...so fans ARE essential since without fans no D1 semi-pro football...just club sports

He is intense for sure and claps a lot to fire up the players
Highly performative, got beat on the same crossing routes run at O$U as we do, falls short, gets the call and isn't man enough to fess up...perfect fit. This is the No Hope In Sight hire. The good news is that it is no longer the kids fault and Kraft is wise enough to see through it. Hopefully, its a one year deal like the Minny OC. God we had 60 great years as Lions fans and 10 years to see us become Iowa. I now have a full appreciation of what Crimson Tide fans experienced after the Bear.

Tom Allen knew he didn’t have to jump back into work. With a $15.5 million buyout from Indiana, it would have been understandable if he elected to step away from coaching college football for a while.
--I would gather that Allen will come in and work his tail off. He is sitting on a pile of money and doesn't need to work or be at PSU specifically. He must want to be here.
It does speak well for Franklin that despite the OC/DC changes he didn't lose one commit.

Yeah, how I yearn for the days of Paterno-coached PSU teams, especially those 2000-2004 seasons and the exhilarating 6-3 games against totally inferior opponents. Ahhh, the good old days!

Yeah, I miss competing for national championships for 60 yrs straight. Except for those years they lost to Toledo, Iowa, Michigan, Sparty, etc. Plus the highly competitive 6-4 loss to a very average Iowa team. Even Joe’s last game against an underwhelming Illinois team. A 10-7 barnburner to give Joe 409. Ahh, the good old days.

One year deal, huh? Guess that's why PSU paid Ciarrocca over $1mm in severance. Kraft can't see through Glad Wrap.

It is indeed spelled gibberish, you hogglemathic neanthralists.

Righto, back on topic. Here's hoping we can overcome Allen's follicular challenges - we were spoiled with Manny.

Carry on.
