Franklin’s brilliant time management skills were on display at the end of the half.

I’ll argue they score with or without the flag, a non eventI stand behind you on this Tom, not arguing with Nittany softies.
He wasn’t wrong
IM questioning now whether Allar has what it takes.
Is the game over? I must have missed the whole second half.Franklin’s brilliant time management skills were on display at the end the second half.
Is it really Yurcich? We’ve seen baffling play calling, other than JoeMo, for ten years.Nick starts moving the ball Yurcich forces the pass
Back to back chunk yardage plays to wide open TEs Yurcich abandons that in favor of forcing the run
Dude can’t get out of his own way.
simple lack of discipline. No consequences for the offending player.well, I watched the same replay, and felt that it clearly showed him pushing/throwing the QB down, and then raising his hands like "I didn't do anything." I'm done with this argument
I hear this kind of stuff about every OC we’ve ever had….it’s tough to compete with couch coaches who have the benefit of hindsight on every play.I hate the fact that Penn State’s OC has no concept of play calling. He calls offense like an ADHD addled 14 year old playing Madden on Rookie.
The question is if the hold happened before the strip sack? They wouldn't call that against OSU ever, never, not in a million years. The call was horse manure
Announcers didn't have any idea. My guess would be whether the hold was a post-possession foul or not.I'm not listening to the TV broadcast so I don't know if the announcers talked about that. But what was the reason for the protracted discussion amongst the officials? If it was a hold, it was a hold. Why the discussion?

And it's not his job to see that sack-fumble situation. The hold happened just before the sack so he's gotta flag it. The lesson for Kalen is to stop holding but apparently, that's the only thing that might stop Harrison today.
It's a real gift.I hear this kind of stuff about every OC we’ve ever had….it’s tough to compete with couch coaches who have the benefit of hindsight on every play.
If they lose this game Franklin will be 1 and 9 against Ohio State that's says everything.Franklin’s brilliant time management skills were on display at the end the second half.
Pribula is a future Hall of Famer. That's all I know, dude!I’m glad we’ve turned on Allar, so I’m disappointed that it took so long.
You know what they say, better late than never…I’m glad we’ve turned on Allar, so I’m disappointed that it took so long.

I don't think anyone has " turned on him". He's not playing well.I’m glad we’ve turned on Allar, so I’m disappointed that it took so long.
He has no help from the wide outsI’m glad we’ve turned on Allar, so I’m disappointed that it took so long.
Bingo. This is why they should have played him more last year.
The other thing they were probably clearing up if it was holding or illegal contact. The latter isn’t illegal once the QB leaves the pocket. Without seeing things synced up it’s hard to know if that was 100% the right call. But I agree it’s pretty suspicious that these always seem to go against Penn State when playing OSU or UM. We know we aren’t going to catch any breaks. Sure looked like a hold up the middle on the long pass to Harrison toward the end of the half that didn’t even get discussed. It’s not just what’s called it’s what’s given on one side of the ball. The question is if the hold happened before the strip sack?
If the strip happened first King was blocking Harrison.
I agree, just start pounding it and stick with it win or lose. Or, stick with the pass game and lose.Penn State could win this if they would ride Kaytron Allen, but they wont
About 6 weeks ago I got hammered for even suggesting that Yurcich have a package for Pribula… just to have DC’s have to prepare for something different. Blasphemy!OK, so first half thoughts -- Allar doesn't have much time back there and OSU knows he's going to check it down every time so they're clogging up all the lanes. Our WR's can't get open in the first 6 games and they're not doing that here either. In a lot of ways, Pribula would add a bit of a wrinkle in that he could take off a la McSorley and keep OSU balanced. There have been a lot of times where Allar has read-optioned and he could have kept it with big yardage because OSU doesn't respect his run ability since he hasn't shown any. With Pribula in there, just for one series to see what could happen, they'd have to respect his running ability and maybe that opens up some slots for 13 and 10. Defensively, gotta get more pressure on McCord and make him get it out quicker. Kalen's doing his best on Harrison but even that isn't good enough for that guy. So the front 7 is going to have to get more pressure so it forces shorter passes. Harrison has been the only receiver that has hurt us thus far so gotta find a way to take it away.
You mean all those teams that end up 9-3 or worse? When I can watch other teams who have coaches who know play calling sequencing, the difference becomes pretty obvious.
No illegal contact in college. That's just an NFL rule. You can chuck all the way down the field as long as there's no hold or the ball is in the air.The other thing they were probably clearing up if it was holding or illegal contact. We're lucky OSU doesn't have a QB or we would be in deep SHI-.Will take down by four going into the half….D keeping us in this.
Agree with all of that. I double Harrison almost every time. Haven’t had too many others step up for OSU at this point. The play calling needs to be better and Drew needs to be a bit more “gutsy” for me. He seems to bail out. Sometimes you need to make the throw and know you are going to get hit.OK, so first half thoughts -- Allar doesn't have much time back there and OSU knows he's going to check it down every time so they're clogging up all the lanes. I would fine living or dying with Drew slinging it
Yeah, unrealistic fans who judge all coaches using hindsight.JoeMo bailed out by Barkley, Gesicki, McSorley, Godwin, etc. He’s been exposed since. There is only one constant on this team….
Fixed. Supposed to be second quarter, not half.If they lose this game Franklin will be 1 and 9 against Ohio State that's says everything.
