Things I’ve learned with the first conference game on the road:
1) Allar is human
2) This team can be too emotional and cost themselves with penalties when pressed
3) We may have found a kicker!!!

Hopefully adjustments will be made at the half.

They finally let Allar throw down field and we get 33 yards.

“You’re looking at your claws and you’re looking at your fangs and you’re thinking, ‘I dunno how to kill the bunny!’ With THIS you don’t know how to kill the bunny!”
That's what you do when the opponent loads the box and plays man defense.

Florida State only up by a TD at half, poorly coaches program. K State losing at half, poorly coached program. Michigan should have lost to Illinois last year, poorly coached program.
Ok. I’ll play. PSU had two costly dead ball personal foul penalties in the first half. The second wiped out a drive that could have just about put the game away. That comes from a lax culture in the program…coaches set the culture.

They continue to fart around on offense with no real identity. It cost them at least 4 points on their first red zone opportunity. They squandered a 3-1 turnover ratio in that first half…always a key ingredient for getting upset on the road.

Many of us have long accepted this staff for what it is: a recruiting/talent play. They’ll out talent 9-10 teams a year but consistently lose to OSU and Michigan and occasionally get upset by an Illinois or Iowa.

I wonder if anyone on the staff actually watched the KU-IL game tape from last week.
I think Kansas and Toledo had very athletic running QBs which is kryptonite for Illinois. We don’t really have that option that they have to defend.

I don’t think PSU needs to worry about Altmyer running in H2. It looked like he hyperextended his right knee, which should stiffen up during halftime.

I don't think that Allar has been given the whole playbook yet, and since we are winning at the moment that may not happen today either. He's about where you would expect in his third start.

Fashanu getting owned. Not playing like a first rounder let alone a top five pick. This is far from a top 10 team right now.

FSU's QB got knocked ot of the game temporarily (shoulder). Back in now and threw a TD for them to go up 24-10.

There were also several long breaks with commercials that were not TO’s or possession changes - allowed Ill to rest

Also, the OL is still an issue.
