I’m convinced he could have had 200 yards and completely stole Jeanty’s thunder had PSU stuck with the run. The Boise DL was gassed very early in the game. Pound the rock!

I realize you can't run every down but we went completely away from the running game that was clearly working. That'll work against Boise but from here on out we'll be facing equal or better talent, so we need to play to our strength.

I think PSU could have ran on every play at one point in the game. They were getting 7+ yards per carry and the Boise defense was sucking wind.

Perfect game - no. For those of you seeking perfection or nothing, you’re going to have a tough life. Win by 17. Beat the spread. Did what was necessary. Were there bad penalties? Sure. Were there ball play calls? Sure. Were there bad passes? Sure. But there were some great throws, catches, runs, 3 picks and a fumble recovery. Held the Heisman runner up under his season average. Played plenty of backups due to injuries and getting gassed but still won comfortably. Learn to enjoy the good things in life!
But, we deserve better.

Lotsa Penalties
PSU 10-98
Boise 13-90
What makes me chuckle is seeing this stat for the first time, yet throughout the game according to the announcers, Boyzee was hurting themselves with penalties. No mention that I heard penalties hurt Penn State.

he was not recognizing blitz packages so got eaten up.
Perhaps, but I really think it’s a complete lack of a WR threat. Warren is great, but he isn’t a speed demon. His routes take time.
Drew isn’t that mobile and you can’t keep Warren in to block, so not a lot of max protection you can run.

You coming home on South Florida to visit us for the game? Drinks are on you 😂

lol, it certainly would be fun. And if Siobhan were serving, I would probably blindly sign any tab she presented to me. :ROFLMAO:

I actually have pretty close relatives that live closer to the Orange Bowl than where you're located. So I'd have a place to stay.

Alas, my wife is having a medical procedure on the 7th, and as a result I can't be traveling that week.

I hope you're going. If so, have a blast, and lift one for me.

I don’t understand why we do this. We’re pounding the run with success then poof, time to get pass happy.

I guess analytic, passing in the hopes they crowd the line and get burned. I’d rather run it until they stop it. A no gain run is no worst than an incomplete pass. Plus they are on the field, unable to adjust.

Needed shorter hot routes. He missed Dinkins in the right flats after he had a chip block and released.

So what do we think happened to Carter and what is the chance of him playing in the Semifinal?

The issue I always had with CJF and his handling of the singleton/allen era is that neither of them seem to get time to get established. I know you spell them to keep them from getting too beaten up, but you never can ride a hot hand for long. And I know I sound like an old school kind of guy, but do a handoff from under center and let them get a running start at the handoff once in a while. All the mesh delays and shotgun counters can take forever. Between switching the backs constantly and loosing 2 or 3 yards on shotgun runs from time to time, it’s not hard to see why an OC might just start chucking the ball or running gadget plays to get momentum and the yardage back. JMO.

The officiating crew did a very nice job. I agreed with pretty much all of the calls. They did miss an offensive PI on PSU that would have very detrimental.
I was at the game and I thought it was called pretty evenly. Did the refs miss a call or two? Yeah, but it was pretty even.

A guy two rows behind me wouldn’t stop yelling about how awful Tyler Warren was until he caught his first TD and then he didn’t say another word. Also, only one post game “Ped State” crack that got shut down pretty fast since the dude was outnumbered like 1000 to 1 at that point.

They missed at least four false starts by Boise in the first half, but other than that, not terrible.
Boise State was called for a bunch of false starts. Didn’t notice any that weren’t.

Watch their TD run by the fullback….that was what they were doing. One side of the line would start a hair before the snap.

Could have happened. Tough to see when you’re at the game, especially where we were sitting.

Nice! Hope you had a great time. Wish I could have been there too.

He's got an arm.

I fear that it may be a triceps injury given that they had the sleeve on his upper arm. I'm rewatching the game now and will try to see what happened on his final play. Gotta say, it was an excellent job by the producer and on-camera talent to break down what happened to one of the best defensive players in college football (sarcasm).
