I’ll be 76 on 2/6. I was there for Joe’s 1st win! Attended ‘69 Orange Bowl against Kansas where we lost. But wait, they tried to pull a fast one with 12 men on field. We got a second chance and we won!😂 A little known fact: Actress and “skin care” influencer, Victoria Principal, was in the Queens Court but wasn’t “beautiful enough” to be Queen! She’s on the right.

Do any of you mid-1960 guys remember the basketball team (we were actually pretty fun to watch) would do pre game warmups to Sweet Georgia Brown? Probably ‘65 or ‘66. Carver Clinton would kinda mimic Meadowlark Lemon of the Globetrotters and go behind the back, between the legs, slam dunk , etc.

Like Yogiman, 74 send Class of 71. Not claims to Munhall, Homestead or West Mifflin.

Back in the day, student football season tickets cost $2 per game. Everything else was free when using your activities card. 20 punches per card each 10 wwwk term.

Winter term was tough with hoops, wrestling and gymnastics. Lot of punches.

Another Rec Hall memory. December 12, 1984. (Yeah, I had to look up the date). The Penn State men were hosting #2 DePaul who were lead by Philadelphia prep legend Dallas Comegys. Being free for students, before the doors opened there was a line down Curtin Rd. past Pattee. PSU decided to make it a double header so there was a Lady Lions game first. The 8,000+ people were likely the largest home crowd at the time for the women's team. I can't recall who they played but I believe they won handily.

As for the men, they lost 78-61. Three days later DePaul was blown out at #1 Georgetown 77-57. We were likely seen as a tune up game before they made the bus ride to D.C. to play the Hoyas. Even though we lost big, maybe we wore them down for the game against Georgetown.
I was there too

I’ve hit an interesting phenomenon in the past 2-3 years where when someone asks me my age, I’ll sometimes have to stop and do the math to remember. Used to just roll off the tongue when asked.

Ha this just happened to me yesterday. I’m forty….something.

76 Trombones lead the big parade.
Rip Engle was head coach my freshman year. First game was Michigan State with Bubba Smith. Roger Grimes, SI freshman of the year, blew out his knee.

I have become familiar with members thru posts, such as lion-Jim being proficient in math. But I just turned 50 and curious of some posters age. I know Tom might be the oldest (Just a joke Tom, I'm thankful for you creating this forum). Well, if you care to share just post in this thread. The impetus of this post was because of the Diane Lane infatuation with some members. I recently watched an interview when she was 18 and WOW. But I was 9 years old in 1983 and more into matchbox and He-Man, when some of our members were into fulfilling or daydreaming of a primal desire with said lass.
I'd say the average age is about 3

I remember Marquette coming to Rec Hall with Butch Lee and Jerome Whitehead. Also Rollie Massamino and Villanova and I believe Syracuse. Dick Harter was the coach and future NBAer Frank Brickowski was on the squad.
I remember going to that game, great atmosphere that night in Rec Hall.

How old you ask? When I was a freshman tuition/room/board was $425/qtr or $1275/yr. Penn State had a new young coach and a war was stealing our young. I'm 76

57, twins graduating this year one to psu and the other to Duke. 3rd girl is 15. Psu Mike you were home free then you started over. Ouch.

parents used to drop me off for psu games and I played in the end zone bleachers climbing up and down the rails from the seat to the ground. Yes they were open back then. Would meet them at the rock located just outside the current psu store at the stadium. No store back then. We would always park in grass where Bryce Jordan center is located.
Used to go to rec hall in junior and senior high school in the winter and run around the whole place for hours including the rafters.

People ask where I grew up and I say fantasy land (state college).

First PSU game when I was 9 was Army vs. Penn St on Oct. 13, 1973. Penn State won, 54-3. Cappelletti and Hufnagle led the team. Proudly.....Last of the Baby Boomers

I’m at the tail end of the 2nd largest group of McAndrew Board Members responding to this poll. Graduated from PSU in 1980 and still pissed at the 4 run/plunge attempts at the goal line in the 1979 Sugar Bowl vs ‘Bama ~ to lose the national championship. ‘Say it ain’t so Joe’
