I don’t know about the drug angle. But, in the early 2000’s there were 2 or 3 O$U students killed in a drug hit in their apartment. They were innocent bystanders as they killers came to go after their roommate (I don’t think he was a student) and since they were there, the killers didn’t want witnesses. When I heard about the Idaho case, I immediately thought about the Columbus one.

After reading the below article, I surmise "Jack" was probably a drug dealer and the two victims who called him six times between 2:26 am and 2:44 am were probably looking for coke.

First, it's Idaho and not Iowa.

I haven't follow this too closely but I'm assuming the reports are true that the victims were killed while sleeping. Assuming a drug connection is a huge leap. Coke in particular would keep them awake and partying instead of sleeping.

The news showed pictures of blood running down the outside of the house from behind the siding. Just awful, and I wish I never saw it

This entire event is sad and disturbing. The info being released is confusing. There were 2 other roommates home at the time of the stabbings. Did they not hear anything? Also, the cops say the 911 call was made from the roommates phone. I am guessing the roommates woke up and found the others dead? Or someone mentioned that the phone was one of the dead roommates meaning the killer called 911? Now there is someone named Jack the girls are calling? Sounds like we are being lead to believe he is some kind of drug dealer and its a drug deal gone bad? To stab 4 people while they slept and no one heard anything and they were able to stab all 4 people? Also, I thought I read an article that one of the fathers of the victim was told by police that his daughter tried to fight them off and tried very hard based on the bruising of the body? So this mean they weren't sleeping when they were stabbed? So damn confusing. Why would the killer only go after the 4 and not the other 2 roommates? *sigh*

It’s also possible that the surviving roommates aren’t telling the whole story or that the police are withholding details from the public to help the investigation.

That poor dog 🐶, no excuses for hurting animals. These senseless gross acts show just sick and twisted some are. ☹️

On a separate note …. If people would slow down and pay attention to the road while driving. Wildlife deaths by vehicle would drop by 75%.

Jack was the ex-boyfriend of one of the girls. They had just recently broken up. The police cleared him already.

I don’t think it’s that uncommon for college kids to sleep until close to noon after a night of partying. They have also been cleared.

I think the cops most likely know more than they’re leading on. If not, it was most likely a random attack and then who knows if they solve it.

Just waiting for ESPN to tie this to PSU and Sandusky.
If he has any social media pic wearing a Penn St shirt…….

(For the record he apparently graduated from DeSales university and is a criminal justice phd student at Washington State).

You wouldn't believe how many serial killers have some kind of animal killings prior to killing humans.

I think every serial killer I had on my caseloads had some animal cruelty.

One of my inmates killed six family members and then went back into the house to kill the cat. It was interesting that the Probation agent who wrote the PSI ( pre-sentence investigation) put that in it.

He was one of the more interesting and easiest inmates to supervise. Doing rounds one day he stops me to show he had knitted a sweater out of a mop head strands. It was actually pretty good.

Insane that the suspect is here in PA. I am very curious for the facts to keep unfolding. I have a tough time logically believing that one individual was able to do this alone.

Seems like the police obviously knew more than they were releasing. That white Hyundai was the key they knew that held the gateway to everything. They must have seen that car on multiple security cams about the time of the killings

For sure they knew more than they released. The police in Moscow, ID are slated to have a PC later today. In advance of that, reporters have been going through the court documents filed. They found that the suspect was identified in part from DNA evidence. So it seems that the investigators basically worked with what they had (no witnesses), and came up with a suspect. In time (perhaps at the PC), we'll learn more about how they pieced together things to identify the suspect.

"Investigators eventually narrowed their focus to Kohberger after tracing ownership of that Elantra back to him, according to two law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation.

His DNA also matched DNA that was recovered at the crime scene, according to the sources, who also explained that authorities believe Kohberger left the area and went to Pennsylvania after the crime."

How did police get his DNA sample?

How did police get his DNA sample?
If the vehicle was the key to it and they could get a plate, probable cause to get a warrant for DNA would be easy. Then, dig through trash, collect it off his utensils/glass from a restaurant, etc. Assumption on my part but I am assuming the car was the key to it
