Bear loved Steinbrenner and the Yankees. They had some exhibitions at the University back in the day.

Well, there you go. Seems odd to call the favorite player off the team he loved that word. Especially considering he played for the Yankees after Bear had already integrated the football team.

Reggie was under the impreasion folks hated him because he was black. They hated him because he was Reggie. And I see he is still confused about it.
