Not only that but they are playing awful defense. What’s happened to this team during the off season? Were they so reliant on Cordova?
Too busy worrying about hair, make-up, and eye lashes.

We have started slow all season. This time we're playing a good game. Not a good idea to let them get such a lead. Better kick it in soon
Sorry, posted a thread before I saw this one. Yea, we do miss a dominant post player, it’s been how we win. We don’t have a stopper at the rim . Kitt’s is great but not a rim protector. This is the first time we don’t have a rim protector or 2 to control the post. Girls are wildly talented but this is not the type lineup we have won with. Dawn needs to go get another beast in the middle. But for this year, our best bet is to run the he’ll out of the other teams and hit 3’s. Not a good position for making a championship run
Shouldn’t we be firing someone….I mean we lost a game. We knew it was going to happen this year.
Couple observations…
Sakima Walker is just horrible. And Kitts gets straight up abused under the basket to the point of being laughable. Edwards is no Juju or Hidalgo, and needs a year to get much better. Fulwiley is wildly inconsistent, I think Watkins still has arrest hangover, and Tessa is MIA. But the biggest difference is Paopao…she is NOT the same. She looks timid, and her shot’s not falling. She’s a niche 3-pt shooter, and Dawn is trying to make her into Allen Iverson…it ain’t working. The rest of the league has caught up and surpassed us, so Dawn better get some recruits, because the recruiting is LACKING. We have a bunch of talent with no clear cut superstar, and no court leader.
Good thing with how FB is doing nobody is paying attention to much else. Sounds like they kicked our a**es.
I think the ''team element'' that was so much a part of the last few years has left the building. Just a bunch of talented individuals.
Could not agree more! All talent, no cohesion. Part of that is Dawn’s conundrum of having to satisfy the bench. And We need a big girl in the post, because UCLA’s size was tremendous.
Tessa had 14 points and was the only reason they weren't down by 30 at half time. She was the only one making shots in the first half. And Paopao is actually shooting at a higher percentage than last year. It was definitely a painful one to watch, but not sure what game you were watching.

Good grief. We lost one game in November and the sky is falling. We don't have Cardoso as the hub of the offense and we have to learn how to win differently against the really good teams. We have to lean into our guards to score this year. In response to King's questions, maybe we do need a lineup change to get off to better starts. Raven is not being guarded. If she can't consistently hit an 18 foot practice jumper maybe someone else needs to start. ...and Tessa has been outplaying Bree for awhile (since the playoffs last year). We just have to find a way to get off to better starts. We were fine in the second half. The problem was we were into too big of a hole from the horrible start.

I don't know about fine, they only outscored UCLA by 1 in the third quarter. UCLA was up by 23 with 4:13 to play.
We outscored them by 1 in the third and 5 in the fourth. So, they were doing some things right in the 2nd Half. They just let the game get away from them in the 1st. Winning Back-to-Back is hard and sometimes the coach may have to hurt some feelings to get across the finish line again. Some of our older players have not been getting it done for awhile. We got away with it last year because we had Cardoso out there to clean up some of our misses. We won't get away with that this year. We have to have efficient guard play or we will lose games. The days of winning big games with our starting PG getting 2-4 points are over. We have to be explosive in the backcourt.
Yes. We have to establish some presence underneath also. We're disjointed everywhere until we're not. Are we a year away with Tac or longer than that? I'm really not in love with longer than that.
Definitely missing Cardoso, we’ve always had a post presence, but don’t have that type player this year. I think, play 10 deep , push the ball, try to wear teams down, especially when out gunned in the post. But I understand, how do you build cohesion when you are constantly bringing players in? It’s going to be hard without a rim protector on the team. It’s not like we haven’t had a strong run, can’t win the title every year, though they have made it seem so. They will be fine, but may not be a championship team.
