1980 NL league championship series against Houston is up there in the top five greatest postseason series in baseball history
They’re not playing any of the big guys today. Phillies will rest whoever needs it before Friday. How do the Phils approach these last two games? They hold the tiebreaker over SD and are only 1 game back.
How much do they try to lose while upholding the integrity of the game?
Just listened to a respected baseball guys who thinks the CY may still be close, so Verlander will want to have a good outing.
Is the line up out, or just a guess? Hope you are correct. They’re not playing any of the big guys today. Phillies will rest whoever needs it before Friday.
Stay in the third spot, whatever it takes. Mets/Bravos are poison. St Louis is nothing special. Easy decision. Is the line up out, or just a guess? Hope you are correct.
Since losing will not affect another team making/missing the playoffs, my feeling is that trying to lose does not F with the integrity of the game.
I still see nothing wrong with this scenario. Can you imagine the Braves overtaking the Mets and winning the division? On top of that the Phillies sweep the Mets in a best of 3 at Citi Field? In that scenario there would be extra security on duty at the George Washington Bridge.

4 we’re the second biggest market and the cardinals are a big baseball draw. Much bigger than either of the AL series but Mets will get prime time. What time you fellas think the game will be? Saw this on the Inquirer:
ESPN hasn’t yet released times and channels yet, but looking at posted TV listings, it appears the games will air on Friday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 8 p.m. Eastern
The Bolsheviks scoff at your bourgeois whine.Phuck the Phils for appropriating "Red October". That phrase has been a St. Louis thing as long as I can remember -- and I'm old.
It's been a St. Louis Cardinal thing for several decades."Red October" was a thing for the Phillies back during run of great seasons over a decade ago. It's not new to them.
I had it on my local ABC channel and then lost the broadcast. I switched to ESPN3, which is apparently the Spanish broadcast. Is anyone else getting Spanish language broadcast ? My Xfinity has two ABC options and both are Spanish for me and the internet ESPN option. Is the English version on the internet ESPN or is this something local to my tv?

Fat Jack Fisher slow.Wheeler gets out of 1st and 2nd, no outs. Pujols hits into double play. How slow do you have to be for the 2B to double pump the throw to 1st on a GB hit to 3rd base?
I thought the guy before him should've been rung up on that 3-2 pitch that hit the top corner of the strike zone. He's been calling pitches in that exact spot strikes today... need to get the bats rolling.Thompson made a huge mistake taking Wheeler out. No reason to, and here we go again, deja vu all season long. This series is over IMO. Nola will get shellacked tomorrow is my prediction. Hate to be negative but it’s reality.
I had a feeling it was on my end and a friend told me to check my SAP. I didn’t intentionally change it but maybe the dogs sat on the remote…I had it on my local ABC channel and then lost the broadcast. I switched to ESPN3, which is apparently the Spanish broadcast.
