I wasn't able to tune in until half way through the top of the 9th. Great timing. Sounds like I would have been frustrated through the first eight.

Also, ARod is one of the most boring announcers I've ever heard.

Thompson made a huge mistake taking Wheeler out. No reason to, and here we go again, deja vu all season long. This series is over IMO. Nola will get shellacked tomorrow is my prediction. Hate to be negative but it’s reality.
He was at 96 pitches. I'm sure Thomson has stats on all the pitchers and pitch counts where opponents start having more success. Of course he couldn't have predicted what would happen in the top of the ninth but it all worked out. It's an athletics contest and not a scripted performance. Sit back and enjoy the ride regardless of how long it lasts.

Franskie on the radio said batters against Alvarez were 3 for 42 in his last 14 games. Hard to argue the move considering Wheeler was running out of gas last week.

Wheeler was on something if a pitch count third start after extended dl. 96 pitches and he was not pinpoint sharp. Alvarado has been great.

hey they went 17 consecutive scoreless versus cards in playoff game……2011 and today. Nice meltdown by cards relievers. Phil’s took advantage and then added on.

I just heard this on the Met game. Most likely, the Padres will have to beat four 100 win teams to win a championship. That's outrageous, but glad they are off to a good start against the Mets, up 3-0 in the 4th.

C'mon Nola. But more importantly, c'mon bats. Cannot wait until the Cards dip into their bullpen to do something and especially cannot rely on the bottom of the order to carry the team in bits and spurts.

bad call by the ref, and an even worse call (call on the field was upheld) on the challenge. smh

7th inning stretch, and the Phils up 2-0. Nola is pitching a masterpiece (6 Ks, 3 hits). Phils have squandered some excellent scoring chances.

9 more outs

Thru 8, Phils still up 2-0. The Cards had a good scoring opportunity in the bottom of the 8th, but Seranthony struck out Goldschmidt and Arenado with two on base.
