I always thought that this was exciting even for a guy who had never been on skisDid you do that 90mph downhill stuff? I LOVE that

No.Will you watch? I’m ready for them to be over only because the commercials are dreadful.
It was really entertaining last night. Unfortunately USA mixed doubles went 1-2 yesterday, losing to Italy and Norway. It's weird. Curling may not have the electricity and anticipation in the air you'll find in more higher profile sports. Still, it's oddly fascinating.
Nahh not so much. I used to like the Olympics but its lost its appeal to me.Will you watch? I’m ready for them to be over only because the commercials are dreadful.
Curling on USA Network right now.
USA won Gold in Men’s Curling! Not curling. The US captain from the last Olympics won his beer league to make the team.
The nice thing about curling is that you can be right back before the stone stops moving. Very convenient.

So crotch-first or head-first?And the Luge just looks like a death wish.

I’d rather Luge than Skeleton. There’s a reason it’s called skeleton. Although my gut would cause visibility issues for the luge.So crotch-first or head-first?
The ski jumping is my absolute favorite event of the Winter Olympics. Imagine the rush you must get when you take off into the air from the end of the ski jump! The only negative is that, given the need to be light weight in order to maximize distance of the jump, most of these guys are small and skinny enough to be mistaken for anorexics.Ski jumping is like Acapulco Cliff Diving with sticks on your feet. They should make them do flips.
Good stuff. Looking forward to it.
Mixed curling on now. U.S.A. vs. Sweden.
Figure skating on later. Short men’s program. What is the height limit? Wait. It’s the men‘s short program.
You can say what you want once you get safely back in the USA. The Chinese could find a pretext for kicking you out before your competition. The IOC is in China's pocket.Sounds like good advice. If you've ever been to China, it's not wise to get lippy about how horrible they are. Unless you want to stay there.
Nope….have zero interest .Will you watch? I’m ready for them to be over only because the commercials are dreadful.

It’d be a political and PR nightmare for China if they started abducting or kicking out athletes at the Olympics. It would snowball quickly. You can say what you want once you get safely back in the USA. The Chinese could find a pretext for kicking you out before your competition. The IOC is in China's pocket.
All I can say in response is that China doesn’t give one solitary damn about PR. Someone else will have to fill in the details but there was this TV reporter from the Netherlands (as I recall) doing a live bit this morning and Chinese security shut him down, and fast. There is zero chance China doesn’t already have a plan in place to respond to such “provocations,” and it’s not in their nature to turn a blind eye to criticism from outsiders, or their own citizens for that matter. It’d be a political and PR nightmare for China if they started abducting or kicking out athletes at the Olympics. My sentiments as well. They’re not as good as I remember them from my youth, but I enjoy catching up on sports that won’t get hardly any airtime until 4 years from now. So bring on the luge, speed skating, snow boarding, and even curling!!Will watch...love the Olympics
I hear ya, but they’re all about saving face and perception. This is Xi’s baby to show how great China (and really his leadership) is to the world. From all reports he has taken a personal interest in these games. This is all about PR to him. He doesn’t want bad press. All I can say in response is that China doesn’t give one solitary damn about PR. Like I said, the athletes can talk as much as they want once they come home.
Yep. All these events that I really don't get to watch very much. Not a big fan of the following though: Figure Skating, snowboarding, flipping around skiing - whatever it's called., short track skating Heck, I'll even watch biathlon. My sentiments as well.
