If you wanted to teach someone wrestling, you’d have them watch Aaron Brooks. No one has it figured out like he has. Makes it look so damn easy
Yeah, he learned how to wrestle before he got to Iowa.
Understand.
It's just that they have a system. Defense. One takedown. Then stall disguised as hand checking. You probably teach this to a transfer, but if he's offensively capable you don't jam his jive.
197 Final: Max Dean vs. Silas Allred (Nebraska) (I'll use SA)

This should be an interesting match.

SA has gotten to his legs 2 times, which is a concern. Dean nearly had a single but nothing. 1 min left. SA in on a single to a double and gets the TD, 2-4. Dean to his feet and he's out, 3-4. End. SA takes neutral. SA shoots, blocked. Dean with a bit of a shot, nothing. Dean reaches nothing. 1 min left. SA shoots a single goes to a double, Dean grabs an ankle, they are on the edge, and Dean nearly gets a TD but SA's foot was on the wood. Dean shoots, SA sprawls, nothing. SA shoots off of that, and then works thru a scramble to get TD, 3-6
Hats off to Allred. I can't recall the last time an opponent was able to get to Dean's legs so consistently.
Dean finishes in 2nd place.

Hate it when guys reach for the hardwood and don’t get called for a stall
I’d like to know why some arenas have mats that you can reach off and touch the floors to stop wrestling and other locations don’t.

Kerk just has to show more urgency. Gotta get angles against Parris. He’s tough to score on. I think Kerk beats him at Nationals.

Next year's B1G Tournament will be at Maryland
LOL...what a joke. One bonus win and a couple of decisions. Brooks & Spencer would both have been better choices.
Great tournament. Expected RBY and Brooks to win easily. Thought Labriola could give Carter a match, but that wasn’t the case. Felt Dean was a slight favorite, but lost. Had Kerk as a slight underdog and lost. Had Haines as the underdog and he continues to impress and gets better every week. Haines Big Ten Champ!!!
Aaron Brooks was the only finals winner that won by more than a decision (he got major)
