This is the roster that Dombrowski built. They have little clutch hitting or run generation without hitting HRs.This offense is a real clown show. Never know what tricks they will pull out of their...sleeves.
You can always count on the offense going dormant for a few games after a game in which they score a lot more runs than needed.
Same lame crap every year. Pitching overperforms and offense underperforms, with a few minor exceptions.
Frustrating loss. They need to be winning games against teams like the Nats, especially when they have a big lead. smh
Have fun. I’ve sat in a suite twice at CBP and felt like a king. It’s a great time. Enjoy!!Me and 16-20 of my fellow Officers will be tailgating from 2 til gametime on Monday. We got a suite. I've never done that before. Can't wait!
Got any more excuses to offer?MLB did the Phils no favors playing this game in Williamsport. It was a marketing day for MLB and nothing more. All the focus was on the Phils, Nats playing with house money. Sure, all the interactions with the kids were priceless, but I would bet if they played this at Nats Park at 1:40, the results would be slightly different.
Does anyone remember the last time the Phils played in Williamsport, 2018? I swear they were promoting Scotty Jetpacks as the next Utley.
One of the teams will always be an east coast team from a city within a short flying distance. PHL, PIT, WAS, BAL, NYM, NYY, CLE, TOR for starters. It has to be that way to minimize travel for the involved teams coming from whichever of the above cities the series started. OTOH, MLB could do a better job of working the schedule so a larger variety of other teams are involved.Enough with the East Coast bias in the goofy Sunday game at historic Bowman Field.
It’s time for some real teams to get invited.
Nola with a fine start to the game, NOT! He appears washed.
Sorry, but he is just bad....allowed another HRNola with a fine start to the game, NOT! He appears washed.
That was a planned removal of Alexander.well he made it thru the 1st inning. The Giants' Alexander didn't even do that.
First inning certainly sucked for him and he has a knack for giving up the solo bomb. His pitch count started on the bad side but he finished with 100 pitches in seven innings. Nice rebound from a rough first. OTOH, I cringe whenever Covey enters a game. Good thing he inherited an eight run lead.Nola with a fine start to the game, NOT! He appears washed.
Imagine if Pederson was still wearing the string of pearls when he batted?!!! What a dorkFirst inning certainly sucked for him and he has a knack for giving up the solo bomb. And what's up with Joc Pederson?? I haven't seen him for awhile and he's really ballooned up. Doesn't look like muscle either.
that didnt age wellWhenever the Phillies score a lot more runs than needed to win (as on Saturday), the offense goes dry for 2-3 games afterward. Could be trouble with a 3-game series looming vs. the Giants.
Kruk called last night's second deck Schwarbomb the pitch before it happened (like T Romo predicts plays before they happen). I'm sure the tweet clip in on NBC Sports Philly as well.help a brother out, there is something about one of my all time favorites , John Kruk stuck behind a pay wall in the PI. Can someone give me the long and short of it? TIA

Your description of what Kruk said on the TV coverage is correct. Unfortunately, a clip of it is not on NBC Sports Philadelphia. The closest is a clip of the HR, and at the very beginning of the clip you can hear Tom McCarthy (the play-by-play announcer on TV) say "there you go, John," which is in reference to what Kruk had just said.
