I'm still pondering how the genius manager can sit Bohm in game 2 for Castro, who was 0-4 with a couple bad plays in the field. This is the guy they got for Barry Falter, no wonder.

That second game was frustrating. They blasted the ball around the park in game 1 and then failed multiple times to put it away in game 2. Oh well.

Agreed, it was frustrating. the Nat's pitcher in the 2nd game was much better than their pitcher in the 1st game. Plus, the Phils rested some of their better players in the 2nd game, so they didn't have the offensive lineup they had in the 1st game. Still, they played well enough to win in many cases, but their bullpen gave away the game.

And Wilson with a first at bat in the majors goes yard. What a great night.

If @Tom McAndrew doesn't post photos of the lady in the red dress at the Phillies game... I will have to make note of this during his annual performance review.

she's in this video, celebrating the HR

and also in this video from after the game, a few times:

The view I liked best was from behind JT when the last batter hit the fly ball to center. As soon as it went up in the air, JT comes out from behind the plate with his arms in the air, Lorenzen has his arms in the air, Rojas makes the catch and is all by himself jumping around in center field.

A month ago, Lorenzen was in Detroit with no hope of a playoff berth. Rohas was in Reading. Wes Wilson was in Lehigh Valley (which probably looked pretty nice compared to the other stops along his Odyssey), and Rodolfo Castro was in Pittsburgh.

That game was truly an Al Michaels "Do you believe in miracles; Yes!!" moment.

Seriously?!?!? After the 9th inning kick in the nuts from the gnats on Tuesday, I refused to listen to the game last night.

Oh man. I missed this tweet last night. We’re down at the beach and I made the family wait to go home a few innings last night. I knew if I left I’d jinx it.

I actually have Lorenzen on my fantasy team, so I’ve been following him pretty closely all season. So excited for this guy, especially after last night. That got me so excited for the stretch run. We’re getting closer and closer to the best time of the year.

Nice win over the first place Twins. The Phillies are hitting their stride at the right time! Turner, Stott, Castellanos & Schwarber are hitting well. Starters are eating up innings. Good times!

Ruly was a strong advocate of Dick Allen being enshrined in the Hall which was interesting and impactful given he was an OWNER and brought back Allen for Part 2 of Allen’s career in Philly while he OWNED the team.

I thought Quinn was a curious selection. The Phillies teams of the 60’s were largely bad. I guess he gets some recognition for the build of the core for the 70’s run of Schmidt, Bowa, Bull, etc.

Big game today. Need a bounce back from Sat night and something good to take on the road up North. Get it done boys!!

His career average is .226 so he is there for the homers I guess.
Yeah I don’t understand it. I guess Thompson is following the Braves model of batting Acuna first with power at the top of the lineup. While Schwarber has a couple more homers and RBI, Acuna is hitting almost .340, has scored more than 100 runs and stolen 54 bags.

This offense is a real clown show. Never know what tricks they will pull out of their...sleeves.

You can always count on the offense going dormant for a few games after a game in which they score a lot more runs than needed.

Same lame crap every year. Pitching overperforms and offense underperforms, with a few minor exceptions.
