From the Tennessee Board - re: Cooper transferring from SC to UT & her initial recruitment.
some of these folk live in an alternate reality. while a legendary program, the majority of their fans are completely out of touch with the current state of their program vs ours .
that board is comedy gold .

(Dawn mad ? Will she? Cooper was not the starter plus two other point guards coming in, either both transfers or one a transfer and the other a freshman)

I don't know if she would be mad but I def know she didn't want Cooper HERE at TN. The story was Cooper was a TN lean for the jump but SC had everyone put pressure on her to change her to put her towards SC and it worked. I have a feeling we will hear some more of why TN this time around. While it's hearsay i've heard from people with ears on the ground that she was heartbroken kellie she was choosing SC and there was a lot of pressure from everyone frol
parents (which they had people in their ears) to club coaches.
UT recruited Cooper hard and many on their board felt they led. There was some uncertainty about her decision right up to the announcement. Instead of griping about undue influence(🤣🤣🤣🤣REALLY?) from the Gamecocks maybe they ought to be asking why can’t Harper close the deal with HS recruits.

All I know is if she thought she got recruited over at SC then she better watch her back at UT. If they bring in another only 1 person signing class then next year they will again be trying to grab the best of the portal no matter what the position to just build their numbers.
With Cooper committing, UT will be left with 6 scholarship players returning after this upcoming season.

They have #29 Kaniya Boyd committed, that brings them to 7 scholarship players. They want Tennessee native #7 Imari Berry so bad they don’t know what to do. She is going Orange but to taterville of all places. They have no one else of significance on their radar, so yes another 1 player recruiting class. That means Harper is probably going to bring at least 4 maybe 5 through the portal.

I just don’t see how they can sustain success this way but what do I know 🤷‍♀️

I don’t see how she can sustain it either. She has pulled portal rabbits out of her hat three years in a row. With the addition of Cooper their 12 player roster includes 7 portal players, Tamari Key who was signed by Holly Warlick and four players she signed out of HS: Tess Darby, Sara Puckett, Karoline Striplin, and Kaiya Wynn.

I wish with NIL that players had to be at the school for a minimum of one year before they could make any NIL money and if they transfer they have to wait a year before they could sign any deals. I know it won't happen but that would put a damper on all these behind the back deals to get kids to sign with certain schools. Although I have no idea and really doubt that NIL had anything to do with Talaysia.

I think the more unregulated it is, the more it's to our advantage because of our success and resources. I have to believe Paopao will be getting some substantial NIL money.

Of course, your suggestion is probably for the better of the college game as a whole.

Dawn recruits so well, though, we don't rely on transfers as much as most schools.

It was PaoPao training in what I assume is her home gym as they are on a break right now. She is playing against a coach and takes several pretty shots including two pull up three pointers
Thank you! I can see now why you would be excited!

McDaniel is announcing Aug. 11 at the Undwe Armour game
Dawn's birdie tweet and Cooper's announcement she was transferring were suspiciously close to one another. That's one of the reasons I'm still leaning toward McDaniel.

I don't know much about Ume's recruitment, tbh. Looking at the roster, we should be an attractive destination for a big in the 24 class. We'll see.

We definitely need a big and I believe Ume can play the 5. I still don't know how her recruitment , especially if she doesn't reclassify would effect Cooper. She would be a Junior with plenty of experience compared to an incoming freshman.

Ume I believe is only 6'3"..we need to recruit girls for the post position who are atleast 6'5" or taller. Ume my guess will play the same position Victaria Saxton played.

I'm hoping for Koval. Is Adel Tac still out there? I don't ever see her mentioned at all...

What dose that say about our recruiting strong, koval, Carlton ?
Tac has an offer from us. Not sure if she has narrowed down choices. She had a serious injury early in January and has been very quiet since then. She is top flight talent but I think schools are going to be wait and see. I expect she signs late in the process

we have made the final 5 for Carlton but I know of no scheduled official visit.

Koval and Strong have offers. Strong seems interested and has ties to the program but you by no means could call her a lean.

Koval is Lithuanian or Ukrainian? Playing in upstate NY. UCONN fans seem to think she is coming to them. I know the least about her leanings

McDaniel and Joyce Edwards are teammates in this game. 🤞

This is interesting

But not unexpected. She has been rumored to be committed to taterville for about 2 months. Berry really pissed off Ohio St coach in June when she just flat out refused to even visit.

meanwhile Kellie Harper reacted to the fact that the state of Tennessee has produced four 5***** Players since she has been coach and UT has been in the final group of NONE OF THEM.

Well, that website I paid 5 bucks to view their inside info was on the money about Berry. They also said McDaniel was a lean toward us, for whatever that's worth.

Any thoughts on how the demise of the PAC-12 will affect Stanford WBB?

Stanford is a great place to get an education. That won't change. But a lot of uncertainty in terms of athletics. I have to believe it will affect the recruiting of top players in the immediate future.
