That's interesting and it has to be so frustrating having to recruit up against us!

Another tidbit on Maddy McDaniel from UT board. Their women's sports reporter said McDaniel did not have a committable offer. I find that super hard to believe that a player ranked in the top 15 would come on an official visit and not have a committable offer. If so, super dumb on Tenn's part!

I find that very hard to believe also. Either trying to save face OR now we know why they can’t sign HS Players

A bit premature in my opinion. This is her 5th season and she is 25-9 and 25-12 in the last two seasons. Made sweet 16 in both years. This years team should be just as good or better.

Mass exodus after this season which will leave her with only 6 scholarship players on the roster.
There is talent Hollingshed and Cooper are 5***** and could develop into great players. Puckett, Strickland and Striplin while not stars are good enough to be important and solid contributors. Kaniya Boyd#34 HoopGurlz can play.

This means Harper has 8 scholarships left to give. She has pulled a rabbit out of the hat three years in a row through the portal. Can she make it four? She is going to bring 4-6 portal players, she has to. I’m not throwing dirt on grave yet.

Wow...I was thinking this was her 2nd or 3 rd year.I didn't realize it was her 5th. I retrack my bet. LOL

2023-2024 Tenn roster shows 13 players for this year ..including RS SR Tamari key ,back for what seems like her 10th season

OOC Schedule thoughts.

Only stronger OOC is UConn.

Disappointed that Stanford ditched us. Wondering if the series will be renewed next with our trip to UCLA or if we pick up a Rising USCw. Also wondering if Stanford will get back on the schedule in January as a double up game with an ACC road game. This would necessitate moving the UConn game to Nov/Dec so who knows.

Good news in buying out the Charleston game, but really would have liked another quality opponent. PC, Morgan St and Mississippi Valley is one terrible team too many for us. But lot of moving pieces late in the process with Stanford and Charleston Southern. It is an extra home game but 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Here is the first mock draft for WNBA. Kamilla is #7. Hailey Van Lith is #5. Angel Reese comes in at #8, she is ranked the 4th best PF in the draft and they express concerns about her shooting skills

We won't know which players will declare for the 2024 draft until April. And the lottery still needs to be held. But what might the first round look like?

Jordan Lee to commit tomorrow. Not thinking it will be us bc I don’t think she ever visited :/. A Texas poster on the boneyard says Justice Carlton is also announcing her commitment tomorrow and that he thinks they get both. It’s already been reported that Carlton committed to Texas on her visit last weekend.

#7 Justice Carlton and #8 Jordan Lee plan to announce their commitment on Friday. As of this morning, neither has said what time she will announce.

USC made Carlton's top five along with LSU, Arizona, UConn, and Texas. She has long been a Texas lean and reportedly made a silent commitment on her official visit last weekend. I have no reason to expect a change of heart.

Lee announced a top 11 in July that included the usual suspects. South Carolina offered Lee late - I think Winston Gandy was recruiting her at Duke and continued when he moved to USC. As certain as I am that Carlton is heading to Texas, that's how uncertain I am with Lee. I will add that Lee and Dawn Staley were at the same event in New York last weekend, and Lee was part of the UA Next game with Gamecock commit Madisen McDaniel.

This is the part of recruiting season that I just hate. It always seems our recruits are the last to commit. Everybody else patting themselves on the back and we are going, well…… are you? I get why they visit. It’s free, you make friends and connections for the future, you see the country.

I never thought we were in the running with Lee. I think Carlton gave us serious look, but knew Edwards and Strong were serious possibilities for us and takes no matter what she did.

I feel very hopeful about Tac, good about Smith, don’t think Cambridge or Strong are possibilities but you never know. I believe Edwards is ours unless something dramatic and weird happens.

I agree that it seems our targets are the last to commit to us. We seem to be in the position that we are sweating it out year after year. Destanni Henderson committed early during her recruitment. I cannot remember others. Happy with the recruits that we have gotten just hope that they would decide earlier so that I do not continue to get so many gray hairs.

I gotta think it’s coming soon. Duke board reported she is taking her OV there this weekend which only leaves SCar and UCLA as schools she has not officially visited from her top 5 unless it’s been super hush hush. Dawn usually likes to get the last visit so maybe she’s trying to do that with Smith, Strong and Edwards

Wow, thanks for the info! I have all my fingers and toes crossed for Smith. I think she would just be perfect for our program.
