Man, those broadcasters for this game...bad. I saw way too many great drives by our guards (Raven, even Tessa) setting up our Bigs, and ONLY the Bigs get credit for scoring?? It's like these goobers never watched or played hoops before lol
Announcers on SEC+ are not professional announcers. They are usually Athletic Department employees or interns of the home team. Considering they were employed by Auburn, they were fairly even handed.Man, those broadcasters for this game...bad. I can vouch for the "not professional announcers" part. I follow my grandson's games that I cannot attend, many of which are shown on ESPN-plus. The announcers are definitely not the first team - or the camera people, either. That doesn't mean the broadcasts are all bad, only that they aren't very polished.Announcers on SEC+ are not professional announcers. I'm not 100% sure what you mean about the big news. But I did hear that Betts is day to day now. So its promising that she may come back.Couple of questions for those in the know…
UCLA, they play tonight, any ideas what the big news is? That was a very emotional post game presser, with no context.
Teddy bear toss? Did I miss it? Is it happening?
* I kind of liked that win last night. The Pat Summitt saying is "rebounding wins championships", not "3 point shooting wins championships" for a reason. It's very likely a team will have an off shooting night over 6 games that it takes to win the NCAA tournament. Rebounding and defense are more reliable.I know we all feel that we were bad on offense last night-especially the first half. Two things to put that in perspective,
1. We just missed a lot of open shots
2. That was the second highest point total Auburn has given up all season. UT got 75. They average giving up only 57 per game. They were #1 in points allowed in SEC games coming into last night.

* Even though we were only up 5 at the half, I wasn't concerned. It was a familiar story: the opposing teams star player was having a night, but expending a lot of energy in the process and her teammates were contributing very little on the offensive end.
* I absolutely loved that Dawn went to the 2-3 zone to start the 4th. It blew the minds of the Auburn players. I'm sure they didn't expect to see zone. I can't recall us playing zone all season (maybe against Notre Dame or Maryland. Maybe). Scott-Grayson couldn't get to the basket against the zone and didn't want to take a shot from distance. Her teammates had grown comfortable watching her try to score for 3 quarters and they were visibly hesitant to shoot.
* Auburn aggressive guards drove Paopao off the 3 point line consistently and forced her to drive. In the 3rd, on two consecutive possessions, she drove and turned the ball over. Coach pulled her. Fuwiley's ability to drive and finish at the basketball, or get fouled, was very effective against the overplaying Auburn guards. She kept her turnovers to 3.
* According to Her Hoop Stats, Ashlyn Watkins has the highest defensive rating of any player in college basketball. She also has the highest defensive win share over 40 minutes. I suppose that raises the question if you have possibly the best defensive player in the country should she be on the floor more. I think the only reason she doesn't play more is concern about fouls. She wants Ashlyn to be around to finish the game. She was sooo good defensively in the final 7 minutes of the LSU game. That's how I interrupt Dawn's comments after the game.
* Finally, Scott-Grayson played all the way to the final minute. Mingo-Young did as well. I thought that an odd decision by Johnnie Harris. Not sure if margin of victory matters in the NET rankings or not. I do know that counted as another quadrant 1 victory for us.
Her coach has been living the dream. Camden moves to 4A next year with no JE.Went to Joyce Edwards senior night tonight and Dawn, Boyer, Law and Winston Gandy were in attendance. Joyce scored 33 and had 28 rebounds!

my dyslexia scores again! Thanks for the correctionWe got 76. It's higher than 75, silly.........![]()
I only brought up the NET rankings to try and understand why Auburn's coach left her 2 best players in the game to the end. Auburn is very much concerned with the NET rankings. Not trying to be rude, but this isn’t our men’s team we’re talking about. I truly do not believe our women’s team has to worry about their NET ranking or quad wins for the foreseeable future so long as they continue winning.
I thought they called it fairly to clarify, just thought they kinda sucked overall in knowing what the hell they were talking about itAnnouncers on SEC+ are not professional announcers. 39 with the win over Auburn. Delicious irony, we could tie the UT record of 42 by beating UT at UT. We also have a 43 SEC home game steak going. So STAT guys help me out. We are #3 with 38 straight SEC regular wins in conference according to the broadcast the other night. So, what is the record exactly? Anyone know?
nm 42![]()
Spot on. I feel bad for them. KK Dean's injury was huge. Ole Miss was set up for a special season. But I don't feel too sorry for them because you know a Coach Yo team won't feel sorry for themselves. I expect a battle tomorrow.Gamecocks vs OM preview
been a little one sided lately. OM’s last victory came in the SEC TOURNAMENT in 2010!! We have an 18 game streak going.
OM is a VERY GOOD defensive team. They only give up 58 ppg and are +9 in rebounds a game, and they are 4th in the country in blocked shots.
This will be a hotly contested game in the paint. They start 5 seniors, all at 6’0”. Igbokwe, their C is 6’4” but thin. PF Madison Scott is 6’3”.
the
Good sized, experienced, and hard nosed. The bench is thin. Kharyssa Richardson (Sr) is their best 3pt shooter but that is rather misleading as she has only made 6 all year. Just a bad 3 pt team 24% and a below average shooting team in general 42%. Tyia Singleton (Sr)is the Main sub off the bench.
Davis is a good scorer as is Scott, both are tough matchups. Collins and Todd-Williams can also score.
If we play our regular tough D and take care of the glass I think this will be a 15 point win. Get into their bench with them in foul trouble that could stretch out. Don’t rebound well and this is a fourth quarter game.
6’4” freshman J’Adore Young is from Greenville and was a toprecruit #98? I imagine she will have mom and dad and everyone there. She has played very little but we wish her well.
I don't see it either.OK, I’ve watched it 4 times and yet to see where she got fouled or even bumped hard. The slight contact was chest level. She’s fine for 3 seconds, asks for the ball and then does that collapse. Then does that motion and says “it’s a foul” on the bench. Color me not convinced. It didn’t seem to affect her. She had her typical scoring fest 38 wit 10 assists
I think just playing Auburn with their stingy D helps us in this game!Gamecocks vs OM preview

I was also thing that the Ole Miss team sounded similar to Auburn. Let's play 2 halves like the second at Auburn.I think just playing Auburn with their stingy D helps us in this game!
Definitely. Both play great defense. Auburn has fantastic defensive guards; Ole Miss relies more on length at all 5 positions. I'm optimistic we'll play better today offensively because I think our guards will have more open looks. Plus, we're at home.I was also thing that the Ole Miss team sounded similar to Auburn. Johnnie is definitely in good graces now. A competitive game against us, beating LSU and a few of their games has had pretty sizeable crowds.Ranking the hottest SEC coach's seat to coolest:
1. Kyra Elzy
2 Robin Pingeton
3. Mike Neighbors
4. Kellie Harper
5. Johnnie Harris
6. Kelly Rae Finley
7. Coach Ab
8. Kristie Curry
9. Sam Purcell
10. Joanie Taylor
11. Shea Ralph
12. Coach Yo
13. Kim Mulkey
14. Dawn Staley
I would say that everyone from 5 up are safe for this season. The football schools -- Auburn, Florida, Georgia -- will have a lot of patience with their wbb coaches. Neighbors and Harper could be in trouble if their seasons go sideways down the stretch. I think Elzy and Pingeton need a miracle run.
Reasons I rank Abe at 7:Johnnie is definitely in good graces now. A competitive game against us, beating LSU and a few of their games has had pretty sizeable crowds.
I would put coach Abe at 3, this year has so underwhelming she really could be gone by 2025 at this rate.
If Neighbors miss the tournament again this season his seat will start to get warm. He seems to be well liked in Arkansas .
Kellie Harper honestly should be gone by now, but as long as Tennessee remains top 4 in the conference and makes the tournament she'll stay again. She keeps doing just well enough to save her job and Tennessee keeps lowering their standards and accepting it.
Outside of 1/2 I think everyone else stays unless there's a big time hire in the works. Also wouldn't be surprised if Coach Yo leaves for a better opportunity either.
Coach Yo is very safe but she may be ready to move on to another challenge. She has been very vocal about the lack of fan support. And sh graduates her top 7 players.Ranking the hottest SEC coach's seat to coolest:

Am I drunk or insane? SEC Announcing crew just said Eniya Russell was getting strong consideration for 6th player of the year![]()
