I don’t believe it, and if it is true I don’t think Mitchell is physically up to it. Mitchell retired because of a fall and serious head injury. At his retirement he said he was physically incapable of coaching.
Offhand, I don't know of many college coaches in any sport that have had two stints at a place and the second was as good as the first. Bill Snyder at Kansas St. might have been the guy. Such a feat is extremely rare.

Mitchell is as country as a chicken coop. He's from a small town in Mississippi, a graduate of Miss State. He did some announcing on their wbb games a while back. I thought, when State was going through all that turmoil a couple of years ago, he might take over there, if he planned on returning to coaching.

Looking at Bracketology we have played 20 games vs 15 teams projected in the field. There is a good chance that number grows. ECU knocked off the #1 seed in their conference quarters. Swansea’s and former tater Danae McNeil is playing insane. In that game she had 29 pts 5 rebs 3 blocks and 10 steals.

Bowling Green with coach Fred is still alive and playing well in their tourney.

Even when she schedules down DS tends to schedule teams who are the top or very competitive in their conference. The 3 exceptions this year being the 2 HBCU schools Miss. Valley State and Morgan State. Morgan State actually gave us a closer game than that third team…. Tillman Tech🤔🤣

Here’s what I had to say about this that last Friday. It’s an odd situation because Compared to the 14 years before her Butler was a huge improvement but they still stunk. My question is who in the hell would take that job??

VERY OT It’s firing season… Pingeton and Elzy are most probably gone. Everyone else in the SEC is safe

BUT IF you are Tillman Tech what do you do about Amanda Butler and the WBB Program ?

You can’t call Butler’s 6 year tenure a success; 2 winning seasons, 81-108 43%overall 32-73 30.5% in ACC Play. 1 NCCA and 2 NITs. One 7th place finish and the other 5 years 11th or worse. She has had limited success recruiting, but big problems retaining what good talent she has signed. Every Season is fruit basket turnover with 6-9 new faces.

As I said you can’t call this success …….. UNLESS you look at the 14 years prior. They were THE WORST P5 team in the country over that period. The Butler era is “The Good old days”.

NO Winning seasons
144-277 34.2% overall
37-175 17.5% in ACC play

SO….. what do you do? Clearly Butler has improved them from being a pathetic loserville, to just really bad. Let her limp along and pray that by year 10 she shows some steady improvement? Fire her and hope the next coach can lift the program another rung.

I would think so. Her finalists were tennessee and clemsun. I wonder if the vols get another shot. Interesting with Harper's future uncertain
Actually UT and Ohio St recruited her quite hard. She gave them NO LOVE. Turned down official visits to both schools. OSU coach was (he was public as you can be when talking about recruits) very frustrated and spoke about it.

Discussion on the two post game pressers….

So my question now is, will anyone from the media try and ask Kim to either explain her answer or defend it. Maybe also try and hold her accountable for much of what she says. It seems that many people FINALLY, are tired of her act and are calling her out for it. Will they do so to her face at a media event or will it never come up again and she will never be help accountable for anything. If not she will continue to say things that are not acceptable and her teams will continue to be undisciplined. YES Cardossa was undisciplined in her actions but that is not like her.

I also heard some guy named "T" on the Finnebaum show yesterday from Texas try and say that he watched the game and the Carolina girls were taunting the LSU players all game and that LSU just got tired of it and defended themselves. I was unable to watch the whole game due to work but from knowing our team, they dont taunt anyone unless someone is being a jerk first. North Carolina and Duke acted that way earlier this year.
As much as I dont like Tennessee, I didnt see them doing anything like that or us to them the night before and that was a much more tense game. I hate Dawn is painted so poorly sometimes, EVEN by some ignorant Carolina fans, because she does work very hard to do everything with class and she never tries to incite fights like Kim just did.

USC actually did some pretty good trash talking/gestures. Fulwiley gave some too small gesture after burning Van Lith on a lay up. Ironically, Van Lith was big enough to put a block on a later Fulwiley layup. It appeared to me that Watkins was taunting Flaujae (sp) when going to our bench after Flaujae's intentional foul. Admittedly, Watkins, actions could have been solely directed to her teammates, but she and Flaujae intersected at the point Flaujae hit Watkins in the face. I have seen it on GCC that Bree Hall did some trash talking. FWIW, I think these teams so dislike each other that they cannot help themselves. We don't do it in other games and Dawn tries to control it, which I greatly applaud.

I don't have a problem with trash talking LSU as long as we can back it up. LSU does it to everyone, including Queens and the other cupcake OOC teams they play. It's simple--They can dish it, but can't take it.

Watkins is the only player who regular plays on edge. I've never seen her do the "too short" gesture, though. Mostly she just looks like she wants to beat the living crap out of an opponent. How much do you want to reign her in without changing her game? Notice Reese didn't cheapshot Ashlyn.

Cardoso just can't put hands on someone, even if she's frustrated with the cheapshots. That's the only issue I have, and she's already apologized.

Yes our players were taunting but seemed to be more of a response to LSU. Angel had some words for both the bench and those on the floor pretty early on when they were up. It looked as though their plans was to get in our heads and intimidate them with all the smack talk like below.

Once we started to get ahead it went from smack talk to dirty plays and our players started to return the favor with the taunting. It just got out of hand from everyone. I think LSU tried to bully us to keep us off our game and they wasn't expecting the team to match their energy. Hopefully next time it won't have come to that.

I’ve been sort of on the sidelines with WBB despite their success, and only saw the last period of the championship game Sunday, had a little time today so I watched the replay from the start. You ‘both ways’ guys gtfo; baloney. Reese and Johnson should have had three fouls easy each in the first five minutes. There’s playing hard and rough and then there’s playing pugnacious and violent; they are not the same. The officials should be reprimanded for being afraid to take control of what was supposed to be a college basketball game early on; Dawn tried to get that across to them less than halfway through the first period but you could see in their eyes they were afraid to do anything about it. Those officials hold the responsibility for what happened.

I just hate autocorrect. I mean when it changed intimidate to intimate. It just moves the conversation from the boxing ring of the mind to dirty, sexy pillow talk.🤣🤣🤣🤣

What if Sakima Walker hasn't announced she's coming back yet because there's a possibility Cardoso could return? It looks like the trend is to make the decision prior to the tournament. Of course, Kamilla may have decided to leave but this week might not be the best week to announce because of the suspension. 🤷‍♂️

I thought it interesting that the coaches didn't even vote her 2nd team all-SEC despite averaging a double-double.

She was clearly the most improved player in the conference. I think the team she was on and the player she was last year got held against her.

More than Chloe?

Funny comments to that post about how she would be a perfect fit for LSU. She already left there! 🤣 Not that Kim wouldn't take her back, if she thought she could help. I'm thinking State or Auburn myself..

She’s projected to go #4 or 5 in the draft I believe. She needs to go if that’s the case. Love her to stay however she has a career to consider

Earlier I had said Chloe was the second most improved player in the league and she is. Chloe was on everyone’s radar, people expected big things from her. No one is really that surprised that she has progressed to being a good starting player.

Petty was an afterthought coming to LSU. She was not a top 💯 recruit. Two years absolutely buried on the bench at LSU. Last year the 8th or 9th player on a bad UK team to this year being snubbed for all SEC honors. She made something out of herself that nobody thought was in her.

I have no idea what kind of person she is but she is a great success story.

I wouldn’t be sad if Walker left.

this short vid is from a regular YT women’s basketball video poster.
He’s a Notre Dame fan so I found it interesting to hear his take

Wow, how spot on. Last season there was a lot of Gamecock fatigue nationally because of our dominance and over saturation of national media. But there was never disdain or loathing like there is for Mulkey, Reese et al.

There are lots of reasons why there were no tears shed at Baylor at Mulkey’s leaving. Mulkey and Reese seem to be sent straight from WWE Villian school, except they are not acting. They actually believe their own bullshirt. Much shorter shelf life than WWE.
