Gamecocks lead 42-21 at the half. Out-rebounded Auburn 25-11. Victaria Saxton leads the way with 8 pts on 2-4 shooting - 4-4 at the free throw line - and 6 rebounds. No trap game to be found here.......

Kierra has been playing well, maybe she's trying to build her confidence back up.
I think it might be precautionary. When Fletcher was out, LA played the point and it didn't go well. Zia took over and then Kierra came back in.

Gamecocks win 83-48 to improve to 24-0, 11-0 on the season. The win was the 30th consecutive win for the Gamecocks, dating back to last season when they won their final 6 games in the NCAAT. The 30 straight wins sets the new program record, passing the 29 consecutive wins they just tied against Connecticut that was originally set during the 2019-20 season and early 2020-21 seasons....

Wonder why Raven hasn’t gotten in the 2nd half?
I think she is saving Raven for Sunday. She was not needed, and she played a lot of minutes against UConn. I thought she would have pulled Amihere and let Cooper get some run at point since the game was well in hand.

Probably right about Raven. I thought at times she looked stiff so maybe she was sore.

I thought the same. Wanted to see Cooper and Kitts get time. Cooper played just a few min

I like this explanation. I'm more concerned about Morris than Reese Sunday. We have a ton of low post depth, but we only have a few players who can guard Morris.

Raven is one of them, plus she can push the pace in transition. I think the plan is to wear Morris down. LSU needs her to play a lot of minutes.

I don’t hnow if you saw Morris’ full stat line from Sunday vs A&M. Sure she has 22 points BUT she fouled out and had 1 assist and 9 yes NINE TURNOVERS

She's definitely not a true point guard. She's more of a scorer who likes to push the ball in transition. She can get out of control, at times, which leads to turnovers. Played 43 minutes against UGA, so she's important to LSU's success.

I watched Sahnya Jah and her team play on ESPN+ last night. She's on a stacked team but she was one of the standouts. Her midrange is pretty good at times and she's absolutely disruptive on the defensive end. Seems like a perfect fit for Gamecock basketball. Here's a buzzer beater below.

So what's everyone's thoughts on the matchup Sunday? Between Reese and Morris and even the freshman Johnson? Obviously playing ZERO ranked teams is not great resume for LSU, but this teams starting 5 is talented for sure. What do you guys expect?

Reese will get hers. She's very aggressive and could also get in foul trouble. I wouldn't be shocked if the game is close at halftime. Our depth, experience and home court advantage will be too much for LSU to overcome. I expect a comfortable win.

I watched LSU and A&M last night. I have to give Mulkey credit for this team being undefeated so far in conference. (I also acknowledge the conference is down). Her roster isn't exactly loaded. Reese and Morris are standouts. Kind of ok after that. #55 is usually the first player off the bench. She's shooting 25% in conference play. Legitimately one of the worst offensive players in the SEC.

If Reese gets in foul trouble tomorrow, it's hard to see how LSU can survive long without her on the floor. She's so important to every aspect of their game, especially defensive rebounding.

I think for us to lose, it would have to resemble the last time we lost at home: against NC State when no shot would seemingly go down. Of course, there was no crowd for that game. Hard to imagine in front of a packed house we could play that poorly again.

I'm predicting a relatively close victory. I think this LSU team is very talented but not tested. With that said, I think they will compete with our team. Also to note, they did not play a midweek game like us so they are well rested.

We have too much depth I think for that to happen like it did that year

Someone help me out who is good with this stuff but in my bumbling around and what I saw I think Vegas had this at about a ten point spread and I saw one that had us by 21.

They have us rated as #1 power rating. Offense #7, defense #1 and strength of schedule #4. LSU power rating #6, offense #10, defense #27 and strength of schedule 59.

If you click on the match-ups for tomorrow, their projected score is 73-61 with us having a 81% chance of victory. Spread -11.5

STAT OF THE DAY: Aliyah Boston is shooting 87% from the free throw line in conference play.
Can’t match that, but will offer this on UCONN
They struggled with a not very good G’town team today. They are 3-2 over the past five games and struggled in all of them. Their best game was against us.

Well here is the stat

Over the last 5 games UCONN has more turnovers 90, than minutes played by the bench
75.
Their starters are averaging 38 minutes per game. Most of those bench minutes have been forced by foul trouble.

Kamilla Cardoso in contrast has 79 minutes played in our last 5 games. We averaged almost 5 fewer TOs per game in that span

I'm really liking the evolution of Cardoso's play, and hope she comes back next year especially with Johnson at the point.

Edwards, alone, had 8 turnovers last night. Wow.

I can"t believe DeBarry is so bad that she can barely get any playing time with a roster this thin.

Just curious why you have any doubt she'll be back. She can't transfer without sitting. I guess you mean leaving for the WNBA. I don't know if she's eligible, but I do know she transferred to USC with the intent of becoming the #1 overall pick. I assume next year is the season she plans on making that case.

She meets the age requirement to enter the WNBA draft this year. I highly doubt she does it but that would be a huge loss for us. Considering her size and the lack of great posts going in this season she could find herself as a top 5 pick based off potential alone.
