Someone help me out who is good with this stuff but in my bumbling around and what I saw I think Vegas had this at about a ten point spread and I saw one that had us by 21.
Masseyratings.com have us with a 81% winning percentage, and winning by 12 pts 73-61. Largely because it's in CLA: if it was a road game he'd probably have us winning by 4 -5 pts or so......

I just accepted that every ESPN promo would be Aliyah Boston vs Angel Reese. That's how hype works. They couldn't note that Kamilla Cardoso, one of the top 4 centers in the country, would also be playing in the game. If the audience knew that, then they might suspect Carolina would win by 20+.

I love the way Cardoso has been playing the last six weeks or so. The lineup of her and Boston with the three guards on the floor at the same time is virtually unstoppable. She will be an integral cog in our run to the NC....

I like this explanation. I'm more concerned about Morris than Reese Sunday. We have a ton of low post depth, but we only have a few players who can guard Morris.

Raven is one of them, plus she can push the pace in transition. I think the plan is to wear Morris down. LSU needs her to play a lot of minutes.
That's exactly what Dawn stated at the end of the first half.

Morris and Reese were just exhausted for the last 5 minutes of the game. Raven did not do well guarding Morris but they then rotated Fletcher, Beal and even Amihere. She took 29 shots.
Their Fr star Johnson was totally taken out of the game and Kateri Poole was soo frustrated.
Reese is a phenomenal athlete with an explosive first step but no moves.

Dawn deserves credit: a lesser coach would have panicked and started trapping Morris when she got hot rather than stick with the game plan. Dawn always believes our depth will prevail in the end.

If we face LSU in the SEC tournament, it will be both teams 3rd game in 3 days, so depth will be a an even bigger factor.

And the fact that it is in Greenville. The overwhelming majority of fans will be Carolina fans.

Overall a good team win. Even the less heralded starters Fletcher/Saxton came up big defensively. Raven/Cardoso came up big off the bench and Boston proved again why she is the nation's best player. Brea Beal proved why she's pro ready and Zia had an efficient game against a top opponent. Hopefully this is only the beginning.

From Blanca Thomas' IG stories:
Kelsi Andrews and Jaloni Cambridge were at the game as well. Not a great pic but it was on their insta stories
I can see from Instagram that '24 post Blanca Thomas is at the game.

Didn’t mean to do that twice :/. I didn’t think the first one went through.

As we were standing in line to get in the game, police made a path for a bus to come through the blocked off street. Officer told us to make way as the bus was filled with possible recruits coming to see the game. Of course we cheered and wave, and a bunch of young women on the bus waved back.

It appears it was a very organized recruiting effort yesterday

Dear Bama WBB team,
My apologies, I dissed y’all badly preseason. You are a lock for NCAA bid, have a great chance to finish 4th in the conference and get that much valued double bye.

Kamilla the Killa 17 points 13 rebounds in 21 minutes.

For the season she is averaging 23 points and 19 rebounds per 40 minutes of playing time
In conference play, Cardoso has the highest Player Efficiency Rating in the league. Boston and Reese are tied for 2nd.

To be fair, Cardoso plays fewer minutes than Boston and much less than Reese so she doesn't have to play through fatigue. Regardless, how can she not be all-conference?

I think Reese's chances of winning NPOY took a huge hit yesterday. LSU was -26 with her on the floor. I know the award shouldn't come down to one game, but LSU's schedule doesn’t give her many other opportunities on a big stage.

Reese is probably still the favorite for SEC POY. She's only shooting 43% in conference play; Aliyah shoots 60%. But there's so much talent around Boston, she probably won't win it.

Do coaches vote on the award or the media? I can't imagine Reese is very popular around the conference with players and coaches. It's kind of a shame that Boston may only win one SEC POY considering how dominant she's been over the last 4 years.

Yesterday, at halftime of the Mizzou/Arkansas game, the Tigers had 13 points and 14 turnovers. I was in awe at how terrible they looked on offense.

Pingeton must have the hottest seat in the SEC. I believe she has a year left on her contract, so she may get another year.

Boston will win the SEC POY. Reese' numbers will not matter, voting usually is a holistic decision and the early season schedule is being noticed by the media voters as to her viability. Most looked at this game to determine if she could take the award from Boston and she failed miserably. She had only 7 pts and 4 rebounds when Dawn went primarily to the bench. This was her litmus test and Boston showed that she will be POY. Her defensive and offensive impact in two consecutive Sundays against top 5 opponents were huge statements .

They started 14-2 and 3-0 in SEC play including a win vs Bama. Then the bottom just dropped out.

The debacle with Blackwell, Ladhazia, and two others players over her very uneven discipline last year doomed this team. It didn’t help when Sophie called some of the players out on Twitter.

The game within the game

Coach Dawn normally clears the bench when the game is well in hand. She doesn’t care if the other team leaves in their starters or not.

Well not yesterday! She waited until LSU pulled their starters first, with about a minute to play. Wasn’t going to let them cut into the margin and make it look closer than it really was.
