Still seeing UConn ranting about the officiating 🤷‍♂️
Today, UCONN fans on twitter are complaining that LSU was overrated. Well, they shouldn't blame us. We weren't the ones hyping LSU.

tbh, I'm glad we took care of business, but I'm not taking too much from this game. I think we have tougher games left. I don't expect we'll beat UT, Ole Miss or Georgia by 24 points. Also, Stanford looked really good over the weekend. Lauren Betts scored in double figures in both games. We need to keep improving.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The newest AP poll is out. We have beaten 4 of the top 8 teams, 3 on the road!

Am I seeing this right … the same 5 for Ohio state have played the entire game?

Well now it looks like 5 players got junk minutes at the very end.

With the conference tournament in Greenville, do you folks think we will sell the place out? I'm thinking since this is Boston's last go round in Greenville, many upstate, western NC and east TN Gamecock fans will buy tix from the other teams fans since I think we are pretty much a lock to make the finals.

What say you?

This year there is one great team and two very good teams. Put all the rest in a hat and shake them up. To be honest though, I haven't seen Utah play so not sure what they bring to the table. Miami is fun to watch, however!!

* For Baylor for Mulkey's bad scheduling and a pretty weak BIG12 for most of her time there.
Not bad for Mulkey to have her record in her second year there. Right?

Mulkey can coach for sure, but she definitely takes the easy way out. This year's Tennessee team while not great could have the same record as LSU if they scheduled similarly. So while it looks impressive this year the merit behind it not so much.

I think last season was more impressive but she also had a ton of experience on that team too. Considering the head start she's had on Dawn as it relates to being a power 5 head coach and recruiting, you would think she would had made more regular Final Four appearances and such. I think the weak scheduling has historically doomed her teams down the stretch for the most part.

You are so right!! And LSU will probably get a #2 seed while UT will be a #7 or #8. It’s not cheating but it is

That play happened right in front of my section. It was priceless to see how tickled Beal was and how flustered/insane/embarrassed/owned Poole was
Poole is the player I was talking about earlier in this thread who's one of the worst offensive players in the SEC. She's shooting 25% in conference play and has a negative offensive win share. Brea defending her is a total mismatch. Poole's worst nightmare.

Their roster except for Morris and Reese got exposed as not top 25 material. Depending on who they draw in the second round they may not make the regionals. Sweet 16 is as far as I see them going

Definitely. You know who else knew that before anyone? Kim Mulkey. I think she expected, going into the season, to face Carolina with a couple of conference losses, but the team has overachieved in the conference play. That's now the narrative, though. Now the narrative is LSU was/is "overrated" thanks to the ridiculous out of conference schedule.

Bad look for the rest of the conference's coaches they haven't beat LSU this season. Pretty much can guarantee that every team Mulkey has from the point out with be more talented than this current one (next year, they will be talented, but not experienced).

Since everyone in the forum was watching Carolina/LSU Sunday, along with 1.6 million other ppl, you probably didn't notice NC State lost to a bad Virginia team. Saniya Rivers was 1-9 shooting. She also had 13 rebounds. lol. That's such a Saniya Rivers stat line. If she could ever put together all the facets of her game consistently, she could be an All-American.

Looking at it now, I think her transfer to NC State was a wise move. She's 2nd on the team in minutes. If she had stayed here, she would have limit minutes to figure it out. Her absence has allowed Amihere to get minutes as Brea's backup. (LA doesn't get a enough credit for sacrificing for the team. She'll be a 4/5 at the next level. She most likely would have been the starter at the 4, if Saxton didn't return.)

Anyway...I'm rooting for Rivers when she's not playing us because a) she helped us win a national championship and b) I hate UNCarolina and strongly dislike Duke. State is losing ground to those programs this season and in recruiting, unfortunately.

See, that right there is how I still feel and always will - the residue of ACC rivalry-consciousness. There will be vestiges of it for as long as anyone of my vintage is still alive. Lord, I miss it so.

I have said that the conference is really down since August. So much talent exited. So many new coaches. Such a weak recruiting class league wide(even us numbers wise) I thought there would be a clear top 4; USC, UT, LSU, and ARK. UT and Ark. have severely underwhelmed. WTH is Jersey Wolfenbarger?

ESPN Preseason had UK and Mizzou in the NCAA(we all knew that was delusional)

OM, BAMA, Miss St., and UGA are smart and tough but lacking in overall talent. They all conveniently scheduled.

Everybody else in the league is a hot mess

State and UNC play each other next, so you can indulge that hate tomorrow.
I don't care if they kill each other. State's as dirty a football opponent as we ever faced (with due respect to Miami and Tennessee) and that was in the years AFTER we left the league - the Ellis years especially. UNC is still the most arrogant school we've ever competed against. I still wish we had a chance to whip those @$$e$ every year.

I agree it was a wise move for her bc I think she wasn’t willing to wait her turn. She wants all those minutes and I also thinks she would like to be the teams star. That certainly wasn’t going to happen here.

UCONN was outrebounded by 8. Ducharme's return doesn't solve that issue and neither will Fudd's.

Lopez-Senchal continues to play well in Fudd's place, so her return won't address a need. Well, they only scored 62, so maybe more offense is a need. But taking Griffin off the floor hurts them on defense and rebounding.

I'm old enough to still think that Geno will figure it out, but it's been a while since UCONN has won it all.

I think Wolfenbarger hits the transfer portal after the season. Neighbors seems irrationally committed to playing Saylor Poffenbarger at the 4. She's doesn't rebound well enough and they keep getting killed on the boards against top of the conference teams. Interesting to see how she performs against Rickea Jackson tomorrow.

no love from the ESPN staff for Boston for NPoY but they do see SC winning the NC

These guys are spot on in their assessments. If I had a vote for POY it would be Boston, of course, but Clark has had an incredible year stats wise and with the way she has carried her team I think she will win it easily. Gamecocks will win the NC! Stanford is the only team with a shot and they do scare me a bit but I think we take them on a neutral court....
