Oilers hold on for five win and force game six back in Edmonton. Getting good.
I’m too lazy to look it up, but it seems like this may be the latest date for the Cup final so far. It seems like early June used to be the end of the finals not too long ago.Ridiculous that the Cup still hasn’t been given out.
After seeing the replay deny Florida a goal, I had bad flashbacks of Bobby Nystrom's offside goal in game 6, ending the 1980 Cup final.Edmonton scores 46 seconds into the 2nd period. Janmark to Henrique.
And Florida gets one back just 10 seconds later. Barkov.
2-1, Edmonton, 19:04 left in the 2nd period.
Edmonton challenges the Florida goal for an offsides. Edmonton wins the challenge. Still 2-0, Edmonton, 19:09 to go in the 2nd period.
As I'd written.I originally thought Florida in 5. They are so solid on defense. When you add that they have a HUGE edge in goaltending, it's no surprise that they're up 3-0. Last night, the latter was in evidence. When Skinner botched that play behind the net and Tarasenko scored, it felt like it was over. On the other side, Bobrovsky was brilliant again. Florida is just better than Edmonton.
Nice penetration by Buster Hymen on that play.Edmonton 3, Florida 0. Hyman on a breakaway beats Bobrovsky. Set up by a blocked shot by Nugent-Hopkins.
End 2nd: 3-0
Are there people that really believe that play was offsides? After seeing the replay deny Florida a goal, I had bad flashbacks of Bobby Nystrom's offside goal in game 6, ending the 1980 Cup final.
