I meant Bob Nystrom’s Cup winning goal against the Flyers in 1980.

Wow! Have these people ever watched the video of the goal? Or is it just some sort of an urban myth?
The first goal will set the tone in this game. If the Oilers score, the pressure on Florida will be greater than what that tin can experienced while checking out the Titanic. If the Panthers score first, they might be able to get back to their heavy forecheck and defensive style that has carried them throughout the playoffs. I feel like the only way Florida wins is to do it 1-0, 2-1 style. A special teams goal for Florida would be awfully helpful too as they've given up more shorties in the last 8 games (3) than they've scored PP goals (1).
Turned down a $1k lower bowl ticket for tonight - face value for a season ticket holder - simply because I don't think the Panthers will win.

I would have paid him. I sort of knew his wife wanted to go though. How he explained it, it was a discounted price for a season ticket holder. I turned him down before game 6. Best guess on the face on the upper bowl would be $7-8 hundred? I only go to a few games/year so I'm sort of out of the loop.
I know you were responding to the other poster that brought up the Nystrom winning goal, but I had thought the controversy was about an earlier goal in the game. Nystrom's was good, but....
At 0:09 of the video, the puck clearly was out of the zone on the pass back.

Right, neither goal was close. Sutter was way over the blue line before that puck entered the zone, Nystrom hadn’t even touched the blueline when Tonelli carried the puck completely across.

That was an all-time directing disaster by ESPN as soon as the horn sounded. Not enough shots of the immediate dogpile, too many shots of the fans, totally missed the initial lifting of the Cup by Barkov, the muting of audio cuz OMG, they dropped an F bomb!, they get a poignant shot of Maurice lifting the Cup and instead of staying with the entire thing, they cut to two needless shots of the crowd. It's so pathetic for someone who knows how this gets done to watch supposed longtime professionals botch a championship celebration situation.
I experienced audio dropouts several times during tonight’s broadcast, including when Maurice held the Cup.
Yep, we still live in a Puritan society on TV where swearing is the worst thing in the world. The funny part is there were no mics around Maurice when he had the Cup so you could only read lips.
ABC/ESPN can’t even get out of its own way any longer.
The one earlier in the game definitely was. The linesman owned up to it--and got a lot of respect for so doing.

Sure felt like ABC/ESPN was hyping Edmonton a lot more than FL in this series (Messier, the many shots of Edmonton fans inside and outside their arena, the big story of FL's demise afer going up 3-0, Edmonton's first cup since the late 80s, Edmonton fans singing along with O Canada, ...).
