And what was his career record rhere?Really? Cutcliffe was there from 2008 to 2021 with 5 years of 8+ wins.

It doesn't matter relative to your comment "As soon as a coach has an 8-4 record, they look to leave."And what was his career record rhere?
To be fair, Cutcliffe wasn’t an up and coming, young coach looking to climb the ladder when he took the Duke job. He had been around for quite some time and seemed content to settle in at Duke.It doesn't matter relative to your comment "As soon as a coach has an 8-4 record, they look to leave."
He had an 8-4 record multiple times and didn't leave, so your comment makes zero sense.
So you agree with: "As soon as a coach has an 8-4 record, they look to leave"To be fair, Cutcliffe wasn’t an up and coming, young coach looking to climb the ladder when he took the Duke job. He had been around for quite some time and seemed content to settle in at Duke.
You may be on to something. When they hired Connor, I felt like he was going to be groomed for a higher position in the future. He has success coaching defense at previous stops. He started climbing the coaching ladder at smaller schools a few years ago.Poindexter as DC and Dan Conner as LB coach.
I don’t have a dog in the race. I just think Cutcliffe finally got a HC job and was content to stay no matter what.So you agree with: "As soon as a coach has an 8-4 record, they look to leave"
You're proving my point.I don’t have a dog in the race. I just think Cutcliffe finally got a HC job and was content to stay no matter what.
As I said, I don’t have a side. Not here to argue. Just my 2 cents. I don’t really care what either arguments points are. You're proving my point.
Yeah, sorry about thatI was down there on business about five years ago, and I was nearly always greeted with, “Go f*ck yourself.”
Well, 80% of Duke undergrads are from Jersey, so…So no different than NJ or PA.
Having spent 15 years at Duke (as a grad student and then as faculty), I think it’s a good move for everyone.Agreed. Aside from a mid to top tier Big Ten or SEC program (which there was near 0% chance Diaz would get, given the history of his prior HC gig), that is a very good job.
The money will be very good (outrageously good, compared to the average mere mortal), the location and university are very inviting, the expectations are reasonable, and the ability to meet those expectations (get to a bowl, play some decent football and maybe beat UNC relatively often) are achievable.
There are hordes of college coaches (including many pretty solid college coaches) who would give their left arm for that gig.
What did Elko do? What did Spurrier do? If you have aspirations of competing for conference titles or playoff births, Duke isn't the place in football. It doesn't matter relative to your comment "As soon as a coach has an 8-4 record, they look to leave."
He had an 8-4 record multiple times and didn't leave, so your comment makes zero sense.
Do you see Diaz and Cutcliff as having similar approaches to coaching? So you agree with: "As soon as a coach has an 8-4 record, they look to leave"
Prank phone calls are toll freePoindexter as DC and Dan Conner as LB coach.
He said it’s not you it’s me as he got on the jet . So kind .I hope he tweets that he hates us on his way out.

You were wrong. Just move on.What did Elko do? What did Spurrier do? If you have aspirations of competing for conference titles or playoff births, Duke isn't the place in football.

If it is Dex , i hope he learned some things from Manny in his two years. Manny is a good coach , his experience in the ACC will help recruiting at Duke. I don't get any vibe good or bad about Dex, except the safeties took a leap since he's here.Prank phone calls are toll free
To honor Manny, PSU should not play defense at the Peach Bowl.
Yawn.Well I suspect Mississippi will be much better than 10 of the 12 teams PSU played this year….by far!
He's correct. Ole Miss would be 8 to 10 pt favorite over Maryland and West Virginia (neutral field) who are probably our best opponents after Um and Osu.Yawn.
Because defensive coordinator is a very important position on a football team. Why?
You are right. Duke is a great football program. Almost .500 record all time. You were wrong. Just move on.
I'd put Iowa in that category too. 10 wins in the Big Ten--even being in the west, is pretty good, even though we stomped them. He's correct. Ole Miss would be 8 to 10 pt favorite over Maryland and West Virginia (neutral field) who are probably our best opponents after Um and Osu.
Is that what you suspect?Well I suspect Mississippi will be much better than 10 of the 12 teams PSU played this year….by far!
I wonder whom Manny will try to poach from this staff.....
Seider and Poindexter are two names that come to mind who could be promised OC and DC positions.
Its probably between the sofa cushions.Franklin’s lost the coaching room.
Poindexter as DC and Dan Conner as LB coach.
