Ordinarily, I'd say that Kraft is the only person that could get the parties to row in the same direction. But when people who have nothing to do with NIL start going off in public, I don't know.
This was always a "narrative" (hate that word) being promulgated by folks with either very (VERY) low intellects, and/or personal axes to grind (for their own self interests). That was obvious from Day 1.
If one subjects themselves to the intellectual punishment of listening to that podcast - through to the later parts - they will see exactly what was behind the whole "NIL is garbage" kerfluffle (spoiler, it had nothing to do with "NIL").
(FWIW: So much of the content of that 18 minutes is simply abject nonsense.)
Where would one expect that to end up?
BTW: I wonder if the journalist responsible for that wonderful piece of reporting took the time to reach out the other parties mentioned (slandered?) in that piece (or the last one)? That is what righteous and serious journalists do, right?

Has nothing to do with Jay who is also a nimrod. Ask yourself this: at this point, or at any point, why does Short have to say anything for public consumption. Is that interview going to move PSU NIL forward?

Well, considering his former BOT position and his continued involvement with the football program, as well as, his background in finance, I’d bet he has way more of a chance of moving NIL forward than you or I, so I will let him speak his peace and respect his opinion without calling him names. Plus, based on this interview from the past when he was running for BOT reelection, he seems to check a lot of boxes that many on here clamor for on a daily basis.

His background doesn't hold a candle to Ira Lubert's. Lubert is a founder and director of Success With Honor, the NIL collective to which Jay and Lubrano are associated. Why is it the focus for criticism?

Until Shrewberry left, nothing was heard about the state of NIL at PSU. And it's not as if SWH was the only entity operating in that area. If Franklin wasn't pleased with the response he was getting from SWH, he could have turned to the group that Mauti runs, which focuses only on football.
And in the background, before any of the noise hit the fan, moves were afoot to reorganize SWH. Don't know when they started, but it was before anyone was talking about it. Gonna guess that the folks who oversee it weren't happy with previous management.

The people who actually have power at Penn State need to be better at their jobs and getting positive results.
