Perhaps the issue is with the flagship university and not the State.
He took in 30 transfers with him most from a highly successful James Madison
where he coached along with a great QB - Wr combo from Ohio Bobcats.
What's his move next year, recruiting, new HC school ?How did he get so many transfers onboard ?
Baloney…PSU spent quite a long time ranked #1 and #2 in late 1990s and performed better than current regime in late 2000s…

Wasn't there some kind of stat on the broadcast that PSU is like 1-20 (or worse) against top 5 teams in the last 20 years, and Franklin was like 1-11 in his tenure? That'd mean we were striking out against the big boys pretty consistently before he got here. Not that that excuses away anything. Just saying, he's carried on the tradition of underperforming against the big boys, but he's also helped bring us back to well-above-mediocrity overall performances.
I guess we'll just have to live with being a mediocre playoff team. Sigh. It's really terrible. Get the pitchforks.
Do other state’s governors and AGs go after their flagship universities and fund it in the 2% nationwide?

I think Joe Paterno in his prime would have out coached Ryan Day and systematically dismantled yesterday’s version of Ohio State. From a game day perspective, Coach Paterno would have tightened down the screws and been better prepared.
I know Franklin is the Skipper and all roads lead back to him, but I don’t put all of the blame on him. Both coordinators made a few bad calls in critical stages of the game.

Why does this fan base deserve better? One of the largest alumni bases in the world and our NIL is just barely ahead of WVU. So what makes the fan base so deserving?
I can’t find any lists of NIL. I’m unaware of any. Where did you get this info? Where is the accurate true ranking of NIL for each team?
We say we’d like to see a win. Then were told we don’t deserve it. What does deserve have to do with it? We’d just like to see a win. It’s not wrong to want to see a win.
The point you are trying to make is that we should expect to loss against OSU because we aren’t competitive in NIL. I actually agree with you. But Franklin was losing to top 10 teams long before NIL changed the game.

I have no doubt that Penn State could be much higher. That said, I’d love to see a poll on why people are not donating or not donating very much. Is it how Joe was treated? Penn State’s leaderers (could relate to Joe but could relate to many other things)? Franklin? They don’t support Penn State being in the NIL.

you probably want to go look that up- including all of the 2000s. following the epic collapse of 1999, the record is pretty unimpressive
PSU hasn't had an undefeated team in 30 years- and only one 1 loss team over that same time period

Well PSU is 1-23 against Top 5 teams since 2000. Which if my math is correct means Franklin has that win. Maybe you should be careful about what you wish for. I recall many of the geniuses on this board clamoring for Lincoln Riley, Matt Rhule and Greg Schiano. How is that working out at those schools?
