If the engineer builds a bridge that was as good or better than the one that was there for the previous 29 years and better than every other bridge in the country except for a few, I doubt he would criticize it.It's not about thinking you can do better, it's about recognizing when someone else can't do something. I'm pretty sure if Franklin asks a civil engineer to design a road and bridge to his home, and the road goes smoothly, but the bridge collapses every time, he's going to offer some criticism of the civil engineer.
How many of these new superstar coaches were in a division with Alabama, or Georgia, or Clemson when they were at their peak? We happen to be in a division with two teams at that level. It’s easier to have success as a new coach when you’re in a conference or a division without the top teams in college football.Once, there are at least 18 ranked teams who have hired new coaches since Penn State hired Franklin. Once? And then you have 2 champions, 2 losers in the championship game and another 4 teams that have been in the CFP with coaches hired since Penn State hired Franklin. Once?
Nothing is going to happen , but for the record Jason Candle .Yesterday was a really ugly loss, there is no improvement in sight, and you want a new coach. OK, I'll bite- who?
The logical criteria-
1. Someone who we could actually get (so no Dabo, Saban, or Andy Reid)
2. Someone who is demonstrably better than CJF
3. Someone who would maintain/restore what we used to call success with honor
I'll hang up and listen.

Not nearly the quality credential like watching on TV for 40 years. No, I know bull**** when I read it. You trot out that coaching experience nonsense in thread, after thread, after thread. You cant run away from the truth. High school coach? There is a credential to hang your hat on. Let us all bow to your majesty.
He would if he was a bridge fetish fanboy. "I know there is someone out there who could have don e better! I've driven over bridges for 40 years. How many years does it take to get over the hump? And mentioning Franklin in the same sentence with one of the Greatest college football coaches ever is a joke.It is a conversation. Some of us think that PSU could be better, but realize that they are in a better spot then when Joe was forced out. They are winning more consistently. They are recruiting better. The work to the program and facilities is off of pause and that area is moving forward after sitting stale for a long time. They are in the top 10 and making NYD bowls. They just need to get over the hump and also realize that tOSU isn't going to just lay down and let that happen. Nor is UM. Sometimes saying fire the coach makes total sense....sometimes it doesn't.
Here is the reality and there was no comparison to Joe either so your reading comprehension must really suck. Nice try though. How many years does it take to get over the hump? And mentioning Franklin in the same sentence with one of the Greatest college football coaches ever is a joke.
Can't imagine fans with a what have you done for me lately attitude. LOL
Dabo has forgotten how to coach football, obviously. Does he not have something like the BWICAC to help him?
Texas, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, Oregon (Phil Knight alone), Oklahoma, Tennessee, Ohio State and Michigan etc. I assume they are all in awe of our resources. Especially the BWICAC.Few schools have the resources of Penn State.

It really is just the coaching or maybe the talent is better? You sound like the delusional RU or UMD fans who just think it's just coaching as the talent is a bit closer in some years, but usually PSU takes care of them. How many times have they won with less talent as it clearly is the norm as so many want to pretend here? Now we all know upsets do occur, but they are called upsets for a reason and they aren't a dime a dozen against top 5 teams on the road. PSU has a decent team this year, but in most years they are still behind the top 5 teams on paper and in the draft. Things like this are uncomfortable for some folks to admit, but these aren't opinions posted above....those are the actual picks.
PSU hasn't won a MNC in 38 years, so what about the other 28 years?

PSU is in the process of putting $100+mm into the upgrade of football facilities. If it's not in the top 25. it's not because the money wasn't there. Maybe someone could dissuade Franklin from writing on the walls.![]()

We deserve better....according to the to;p 25 list, next year at least 6 big ten members will have better football facilities.
I'm aware. Just pointing out that PSU isn't the land of milk and honey. Lot's of universities currently have better facilities....including Illinois and Northwestern.PSU is in the process of putting $100+mm into the upgrade of football facilities. No I am having fun with this . JF ain't going anywhere until he retiresTell me this isn't serious.
Yes. Remember when O’Brien was hired and he started lobbying for facility upgrades because he said everything was very outdated? Well, PSU is still playing catch up and now at a much higher cost than if they would have just kept up in the first place.I'm aware. Just pointing out that PSU isn't the land of milk and honey. Lot's of universities currently have better facilities....including Illinois and Northwestern.
The Northwestern story is pretty well-known ($250mm buys a lot of nice toys). So PSU spends twice as much as Clemson and gets an inferior product? Color me skeptical.I'm aware. Just pointing out that PSU isn't the land of milk and honey. Lot's of universities currently have better facilities....including Illinois and Northwestern.
He was in an easy division…like being in the Big West..it does make it easier.Good thing Kirby smart was in an easy conference or things might’ve turned out differently.
