Yep.The 1 thing I do like is he has coached and produced at big time programs as well. If he had only coached in the mountain west then to me it would be a question mark. Obviously other big time programs like him as well since ND and Oklahoma are interested.
Yes. Do some research.really?
I am not the HC so I do not need to do research.
You're the one who asked "really?". I'm just trying to help. Just click on the video I posted to at least get an idea of what the guy is about.I am not the HC so I do not need to do research.

There is supposedly good and bad with him. I do not know the person. I did review the video. Thank You for the video and information. Guess we wait and see. You're the one who asked "really?". I'm just trying to help. Just click on the video I posted to at least get an idea of what the guy is about.
I am ok with this.Jay Paterno....please
My backup plan is either JayPa or bring back John Donovan. What could go wrong!?Imagine the fun.

Agree with you on conference statement.Yep.
I'm not sure why conference even matters. Urban Meyer went from the MWC (Utah) to the SEC. Harbaugh coached at the U of San Diego (not SDSU) before going to Stanford. I'm sure the list is long.
The GoGo offense is well suited for PSU. Let's shake things up!
How about an OC that does that and by the way can add value in the Wideout game--- recruiting and coaching---?Agree with you on conference statement.
I’m sure the offense would be fine for Penn State.
But, I want to the new OC to be able to make adjustments during the game if the opponent finds ways to slow or stop the Penn State offense.
I don’t want to wait until halftime to make adjustments. Make them on the fly. Counter the opponent’s schemes as soon as possible.

Lead NCAA YPR 2 years in a row still stands today - he might know how to get open

Anyone have thoughts on whether Franklin makes a change at WR coach? He seems quick to pull the trigger if coaches aren't producing now. We have a roomful of guys that were highly ranked and touted and are average at best. Someone either missed in talent evaluation or isn't developing the recruits or both. I am kinda to the point where maybe a change is needed there as well.
Yes. Do some research.

Well does Andy Kotelnicki fit your mold?Agree with you on conference statement.

Interesting point. I remember when Bill O’Brien was at PSU and someone asked him about making halftime adjustments. His response was something along the lines of if you wait until halftime to make adjustments then it’s too late.Agree with you on conference statement.

I think they go Ferentz so Doozie can call the shots and blame someone. This is interesting. Pitt is looking for an OC also and the Pittsburgh Tribune Review has a short list of candidates. Some familiar names on their list.
That would be fitting. Side note, when I watched them for a few minutes last week, I noticed WR Kenny Johnson playing for them. I forgot about him. He was thought to be going to PSU, then committed to Pitt. Do we know why? At this point we could use some fresh faces at WR.I think they go Ferentz so Doozie can call the shots and blame someone.
I will tell you who breaks down tape as good as I’ve ever seen, Dan Orlovsky. The two football guys I actually pay attention to on ESPN are Louis Riddick and Dan O. They might be clowns too, but they come across as knowledgeable which makes me question why they are on ESPN in the first place. I think Orlovsky could be a guy who could have gone the coaching route versus the media route.
My one requirement would be that the person be in sync with the type of QB you ultimately want in your system. If you want a dual QB, you can’t have your OC be a guy who wants a drop back QB. I think you need someone who is signed on to the style you envision at the QB position to be first and foremost.
Given what a lightning rod Chip is, he can’t be on any list.
I am not sure we actually know the situation with the current group of WRs. Omari Evans was MIA all season, but was electric looking v Sparty. Where has he been? There a lot of highly recruited guys and many of them have posted fast track times. Interestingly before the game Smoke (last name?) former Bama player and 247 analyst was talking with Justin King on that podcast, and he called out a couple players with elite speed on Penn State WR room and Evans was one.My guess is that he gets a chance to recruit the '25 class of WRs, the upcoming portal session, and spring ball with the remaining WRs. 11 months minimum.
Yeah, I don’t get it either. Saunders was a highly rated recruit and was lighting up the camp circuit with his speed and athleticism his senior season. He barely sees the field.I am not sure we actually know the situation with the current group of WRs. Omari Evans was MIA all season, but was electric looking v Sparty. Where has he been? His offense could not score much vs Michigan either. He'll fit in perfectly. This is how bad hires are made, but I can easily see Franklin hiring and overpaying for another shiny new coach. It's what James does best.
It's easy to look like an offensive genius in the no-defense Mountain West Conference.

UNLV's recruiting class was 128th and 115th the last 2 years. Comparing them to Michigan is very foolish. Now how stupid is that?
You all should really spend the $1 per month to join the pay board. Kotelnicki from KU is the trending favorite and his track record of doing exactly what you say you want is superb.I would prefer not to hire an OC with a “system”. Let’s get one that puts the best players in the best position to maximize their talents. It’s the Jimmies and Joes, not the Xs and Os.
