Idk about RG. I think Ike is gone. I’d spend money on the D. At RG I’d consider resigning Dilliard if he can switch to the right. If not put him at LG and move Dickerson to RG. Now u have 2 maulers on the right. Jack Driscoll is a good possibility as well. I think he’s a better OG than OT But we will see

Will Dillard resign? I think he’s eyeing OT money and a shot to start on the outside. He feels like “bad blood” on some level with the organization.

Where’s he going to get OT real money?? He hasn’t done played. Other teams will be taking a flyer on him, maybe they do. But doing even a 1 yr deal w the Eagles and he starts might be in his best long term interest
Besides why would he feel bad blood w the Eagles?? He’s been hurt

Agree, but you gotta keep him. GOTTA. he's the new Malcolm Jenkins
This is good news. CJ needs to stay. He’s 25 and a fantastic fit for their defense. He also plays slot CB and S….a huge bonus.

I am ok with the use of the cap here and my hunch is if they do that, they’ll eye an extension prior to the season deadline. It just gives them time to gauge the market and make a deal happen.

I don’t know Dillard personally, but it’s easy to invent a narrative in your head
  • He should have beaten our Mailata but wasn’t given a fair shake.
  • His injuries and luck have been bad in Philly…- change of scenery would help.
  • An OG deal will distract him from playing OT which is the big opportunity.
  • A short term deal still introduces the same injury risk.

I just look no further than Big V, who I think the Eagles should have extended when they did Ike. I think Big V would be better off in Philly then in Detroit city. We will see.

somebody for the Eagles is getting tagged , and somebody else will be signing even wtihout Hurts signing, I think Howie knows where he stands, besides he's got a year or 2 to get Hurts done, if they want.
CJ gets the tag if they can’t extend him first.

Not sure how I feel about this DC hire Tom. Guess I like to be aggressive on defense and not sit back in zone most of the time. Especially with the corners the Eagles had I always was in favor of going after the qb. Pete Carroll has always been a very good coach and DC so he comes from good minds of coaching defense but will with hold judgement until I see the product on the field.

Lots to unpack there. The Hurts contract quote? Are they really expecting a discount?

The Gannon quote? A fair response given his new role, but good riddance. Birds fans will always wonder if he was focused on his job search at the expense of that game. 🤷‍♂️

maybe i'm thinking a little too deep here, but i think it's multifaceted. On one hand, Howie and Lurie REALLY want to keep Jalen around long term, so they're continuing to speak glowingly about him and tell everyone he deserves big $$ and big talent around him. however they also know that if you dedicate 15-20% of your cap to your QB, you're going to be screwed in terms of lots of high-end talent around him and mostly relying on draft homeruns to keep the talent pool high. Because of that, i think they're using the platform to continue to throw out there that they WANT to keep him surrounded by talent to keep the window open as long as possible, which requires $$. And every indication is that Jalen has winning #1 on his mind. And I think they're doing this in the media, as a way to get word directly to Jalen because everything i've seen tells me that the team deals with the agent directly, and not the player as much.
