And you can Raise The Jolly Roger!!!!
It’s inexplicable how poorly Turner has played. I’m borderline stunned.I don't know about that WestSide. As a Pirates fan, naturally I was glad to see the wins the last couple of games. The Phils go to Miami this week and take the series, they should be OK. At least they aren't colossal under performers like the Mets. Still think they'll be in the playoffs.
Turner is at 1.4 WAR in 2023. Castellanos is at 0.4. Combined they make $47 million in 2023.It’s inexplicable how poorly Turner has played. I’m borderline stunned.
Agree, but with their level of talent that's what I think will happen. The team we saw this weekend is not a playoff team. Now, if they right themselves, then it’s a different story.
I don’t think they had much to trade for an impact veteran right now. Their best path to improvement is getting more from their lineup stars. Harper, Turner and Castellanos continue to be proverbial millstones. Was hoping for more at the deadline but it takes two to tango
Have the Phillies lost to Alcantara recently? Seems like they always find a way to win when he pitches. About time for Castellanos!
Harper and Castellanos sure showed me in the 9th. Let’s hope they can heat up. Turner too. They have had some luck against him. Including tonight, he's pitched against them 3 times this season. He's 0-1, with 2 no decisions. Last season he started 6 games against them, and was 1-3. His only win, and also his last win against the Fightins, was in April of last season (4/14), when he was credited with a win in a 4-3 victory for the Fish.
Castellanos has been struggling with outside breaking balls of late. It was kind of poetic that it was a breaking ball that he hit for the HR.
And Siranthony with a 3 batter save to close the game was a good sign as well. He looked strong.Harper and Castellanos sure showed me in the 9th. Let’s hope they can heat up. Turner too.
There really was not much to be had. They were never going to be a player for Max/Verlander and the Cubs pulled back Bellinger. So, you were looking for depth moves. Was hoping for more at the deadline but it takes two to tango
Lol at the Mets.
Where did you find that at? I may have to get that.
It was long thought that he would sign with the Marlins last year and the Fish not pursuing resulted in Jeter pulling the plug on his involvement in Miami. People were tough on Nick last year given the expectations, but he is a guy consumed by the game and works really hard at it. Him hitting at home wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.Tmac just said something interesting about Castellanos. Apparently, he has a house in Miami. The night the team got to Miami, he stayed in the cage at his house and hit until 1 AM.

One of the most frustrating losses in recent memory, and yes, I watched Sundays debacle too! Just so many inexcusable miscuesTough to lose that game, but the Fightins did just that. smh
