Interesting! I did see on the UConn board the moderators shut down some transfer speculation but I didn’t see what it was before it got taken down.
One of their mods is very strict about any transfer rumors. She shuts them down immediately. The portal window has closed so someone must really be unhappy if they're willing to sit a year. I guess a waiver is always possible depending on the issue.

I do know Sarah Rose Smith left Mizzou after the portal closed. She averaged 7&7 and was slated to start. She really started to blossom in the last third of the season. Would be a really nice pick up for a lot of teams

Very similar to an "Horry County Debutante".
I protest! I knew several Horry county debutantes who were at Converse while I was at Wofford. Wonderful young women. I had a mad crush on one of them but I’m 5’10” and she was 6’1” in flats. I was just too shy and chicken.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I had my share of rejection from girls/women who I felt were just so attractive I owed it to myself to try. It's all in the game to quote Omar from The Wire. One of them actually apologized to me years later. I told her no worries. It's part of being a male of the species.

Checked out some transfers from June. Southern Cal got three grad transfers in the last two weeks, all three from the Ivy League
Kaitlyn Davis from Columbia 13 ppg
McKenzie Forbes Harvard 14ppg
Kayla Padilla Penn 18ppg

Assuming team GPA Went up

I think measurables are in Aliyah's favor. HOWEVER, when A'ja came here, she took the program to another level. I can't choose between the two.
Yes, it would be easier if either one had won her final game here; that would have tipped the scales.

Even if Aliyah had won her last game, it wouldn't have changed my feelings about A'ja's status. If she had played at UCONN, the Huskies would have went undefeated and won 4 national titles in her 4 years there. They almost did that WITHOUT her. UCONN lost two last second games in the Final Four her junior and senior year. Safe to say A'ja would have made a difference.

So is winning 4 more national titles at UCONN more impressive than coming to Carolina and putting a program on her back and winning 1? I don't think so. A'ja changed the course of WBB when she came here. Geno would probably be sitting on 15 or 16 national titles now rather than searching for his first since 2016.

A'ja laid the foundation for all that has followed.

So, evidently, you CAN choose between the two, and have. The "push" for me would have been had one hoisted the national championship trophy in her final game while the other didn't. For me, it would have been easy, especially in light of recent events.

Nope. I still can't choose.

Like choosing between two of your favorite ice creams. No wrong answer, just your preference in the moment.

A’ja established us as a championship destination and she had freer rein for offensive stats.

Boston secured us as a program with a cultural identity rooted in team and other intangibles. She made the expectation final four every year

This may work or not

A’ja Standard Setter

Aliyah Standard Bearer

I think two other names should be included not in GOAT conversation but in the development and shaping that personifies what this program is about

Aleighsa Welch and Ty Harris

Seems like you came down pretty decisively on the side of Wilson based on her foundational role in the Staley regime. That's something that no one else will be able to emulate. So, it would take a level of play clearly superior to what we have seen since to eclipse that contribution. Had Boston hoisted the trophy this year, that would have catapulted her past Wilson in my opinion, but that's just my opinion.

SEC/ACC Challenge game set
Nov 30 @ Chapel Hill 9pm

Did a really good job matching up the top four programs from each league

Gamecocks @ UNC
L’ville @ Ole Miss
ND @ UT
Va. Tech @ LSU in a rematch

before you complain about being only top SEC with road game, we already have neutral site games with ND and Utah
Home games with Stanford, Maryland, UConn and Clemson.
We need the road game so that we can play at home next season. Stanford, UCLA, Maryland, and Clemson are on the road for next season

As the schedule sits right now( i think I am missing a game)

Neutral
ND#10
Utah#5

Away
Charleston Southern
UNC#19

Home
UConn#2
Maryland#17
Stanford#16
Clemson
S Dakota St

This will be the 3rd straight season we play UK twice. Why?

(And what is that funky looking "g"? Georgia? lol)

Carolina and UT having to play a home and home doesn't do either any favor toward winning the conference regular

Thus LSU gets the easier schedule, but they do play UT and Ole Miss on the road.

I had no idea there was such a thing in WBB. Learn something new everyday. I recall the rivalry was pretty intense there for a while when Mitchell was there.
UK has beaten us 4 times in the last decade, more than any team except UT. But our record against them in that time frame is 20-4, 18-2 in regular season and 2-2 in Sec tourney

This makes me appreciate Sania Feagin even more. I hope she is rewarded with lots of playing time this year for waiting her turn.

I could see Talaysia at somewhere like Clemson (ugh) or possibly NC State now that they aren’t as competitive. What do y’all think? If she wants definite star minutes then maybe even coastal.
