Bama beat Louisville today. A much needed OOC win for the SEC. I haven't watched the Tide this season; just know that Sarah Lee Barker has one of the highest player efficiency ratings in the country.
With Today’s defensive effort we will move from 77th in points allowed 56.2 to a tie for 12th 48.8
* We held MVS to 11.9% shooting.
* We now lead the nation in field goal percent defense
* 4th quarter defense continues to be stellar. MVS almost went scoreless in the 4th. They hit a 3 toward the end of the game.
* For the 3rd game in a row, Raven had the highest PIE (player impact estimate). She's playing at an extremely high level.
* Only sour note: Bree's still struggling on offense. Not really sure how much of a problem that is. Obviously, so far, it hasn't impacted the team very much.

Anyone hearing how seriously Sa’Myah Smith of LSU was injured today? Knee injury in the first quarter and never returned to play.
She was sitting on the bench later with a brace on. Not one that completely immobilizes the knee. My guess is she'll be OK long term. They actually play a team with a pulse tomorrow, UVA. Doubt she plays in that one.
They play VA Tech next week. That's a big game for them, considering their schedule. I suspect Mulkey will find a way for Reese or Smith to play in that one.
saw where she returned to the bench with a knee brace. Mulkey mentioned ADR having to step up against UVA so looks like she is out for that game. also read that they don’t expect to know severity until back at LSU.
if SS is out for an extended period, makes me wonder how fast it takes for KM & Angel to kiss and make up

Was lurking on the LSU board and word is that Poole is not on the team anymore and will enter transfer portal or possibly quit basketball all together.
Does this have anything to do with Reese or a separate incident? Kim might have to weed out a few more, although I would be shocked if Angel is one. Hard to know how much is current players versus drama created by a few families and former players.
Interesting…… Poole was the person who was very influential in getting Reese to LSU. Makes me continue to question as to whether Reese walked on her own or Mulkey kicked her off.
The rumor I heard is Poole and Reese are resentful of HVL taking Poole's spot at PG. Or certainly Poole is and perhaps Reese had her back.

it was a cheap shot and deserved a flagrant not just an intentional foul. The announcers went into poor Caitlin Clark she gets roughed up every night by every team. Just totally justified it. Lisa Bluder did take out of the game.

It was called a flagrant 1 but imho should have been a flagrant 2 and ejection. The pushed player could nave been severely injured had her head hit the floor. Coach did sit Clark the last few minutes of the half because it was her 2nd foul not because of any disciplinary action. Clarke started the 3rd quarter.

Well one think you can say about Reese she is loyal!! Kinda like when she took up Raven after the Clark’s antics !!
Looks like she blew off or disrespected Coach Bluder also! Someone needs to give her a word of advice on sportsmanship!! Bottom line if she would have pull this thuggish move on Ashlynn Watkins, I promise you the outcome would not be pretty!!!

UNC got beat today by Florida Gulf Coast U... All i've seen on the Tarheel sites since the beginning of basketball season is how they want us in Chapel Hill to beat us down. Um, I have a sneaky suspension that they (Heels) may get blown out of Carmichael.

I think we get UNC, just anxious about the first "road" game. I personally think Duke will be the harder game.
In the new top ap poll for wbb, NCSU is in the top 5. It's ACC/SEC week and I'm hoping Vandy puts a whoppin on NCSU.
It's looking like UK may be a threat go winless in conference. They're getting drummed by SEC level teams in OOC play. They have one player who is one of the worst players I've ever seen get extended minutes on an SEC team. I'm not going to name the poor young woman, who looks to be giving good effort. If you watch then play, just look for the player who doesn’t give them much on either end of the floor.
And, no, it's not Eniya Russell. She is legitimately their 3rd best player. Scherr is a very good college player. Petie would be a rotation player for several SEC teams, but the roster drops off considerably after them.

My opinion of her, already minimal, just bottomed out.
I think we need to start an expendable player the next time we play them and immediately knock her up into about the fifth row - if the goal stanchion isn't available. I believe that, if a fight breaks out, we can kick their @$$e$.

No, don't let Caitlin Clark bait us into getting our coach in trouble. That's how John Chaney's career at Temple ended. Just kick her butt on the court like LSU did and let her know about it when you get through. That's how you shut a bully up. I am surprised this is getting attention now. Caitlin Clark has been handing out cheap shots to opponents for 3 years, but they have let her get away with it because she was America's darling.
