Has anyone really looked at this week’s Bracketology? Of course we are still #1 overall seed.

The SEC has only 7 spots #3 LSU,
#8 A&M, #9 BAMA, #9 Ole Miss #10 MISS ST#11 UGA. Blame it on weak schedules and just bad showings against any decent team. Who this really hurts is LSU.

But just shocking is the fact that the state of SC has 3 teams in the field. PC projected as conference winner AND Clemson as a 12 seed. Even more shocking they project the taters as the automatic qualifier from the ACC!! This means Charlie Creme is predicting a tournament championship for them.

May I please have what he is drinking

I haven’t finish my coffee yet so not sure why fewer SEC teams in the playoffs is bad for LSU. Why please.

Massey has our schedule to date ranked second. It projects our final SOS to be 9th and we play UCONN in the middle of the season. So SEC play will drag our rating down.

Now, the other SEC teams play us, which will help their SOS. However, many are entering conference play with a SOS rating 45+ in the OOC. LSU's schedule is not even the worst. Mizzou fans are saying on their board if they don't beat Illinois, they have no chance at the tournament before conference play begins.

A&M definitely should have scheduled tougher.

Exactly how bad is LSU’s SOS? As of today with just games played to date, their SOS is 216, ours is 16. Their next three games are Northwestern St 315, Jacksonville 285, and Coppin St 287.

I found this mornings ESPN article comical regarding L$Us win last night against McNeese state(?). "L$U breaks two scoring records in huge win". Huge? Don't make me laugh.

every team schedules cupcakes but KM takes it to another level.

shameful, imo, that a defending national champion would put together a schedule like that for the following year.

Stat of the day:

* USC leads the nation in field goal percentage at 52%

* USC leads the nation in field goal percentage defense at 30%

That's pretty amazing. I'm sure UCONN has probably done it at some point, but it's not often you see a team lead in the nation in both those categories. And we've done it against one of the tougher non-conference schedules so far.

When we are so much more efficient at shooting the ball than our opponents, they have to put up more shots to stay competitive, which means winning either the rebounding or turnover battle, or both. Utah, UNC and Duke all managed more shot attempts than us, but we also got to the line more.

We finished 2nd in the nation the last 2 seasons in field goal percentage defense, holding our opponents to 32% and 33% shooting defense respectively. The shot-blocking hasn't fallen off either. So is the defense better than the last 2 years? I'm not sure I'm ready to say that because we don't rebound defensively as well. But when a fantastic defender, Sahnya Jah, is our last player off the bench, we are bound to put up some impressive defensive numbers this season.

This is definitely one of the most fun teams to watch that I can remember. There still young and have made some careless TOs so far, but the return has been enjoyable to say the least

Absolutely. Even the "game-is-all-but-over" minutes in the 4th quarter are highly anticipated because Fulwiley will be running the point.

Fulwiley reminds me of the female version of Keyshawn Bryant. No, she is not going to thrown it down like he did, but when she has the ball, you hold your breath and grab the popcorn b/c you are about to be entertained. I love her game. At times a little sloppy but again, the return is worth it.

D is not just points scored but philosophy. The game plan against Utah is a case in point.

I had to explain to a friend that we actually played very good D Sunday against Utah.

He was incredulous, “How can you say that, Pili torched us for 37!”

Well we held them 27 points under their season average. Coming into the game They averaged 14 made 3s a game on 32 attempts a game. That’s 44%. They shot 5-20 against us. The plan was to deny the 3. AND if the refs had allowed Cardoso to play, Pili would have still been a star but not 37 points

Speaking of possible transfers. Since Oregon has been so underwhelming this year I was glancing at their roster. They have a 6’8” center I would love to snag 😋

Not much going on BUT Miss St played Jackson St last night at home. Both Barnum and Carter returned to play for Miss St and both scored 17 points. And yet Miss st only won by 10. They were unable to put Jackson St away, though never in trouble. They only played 7 players. This is not a top 25 team or a deep team

Tbf Jackson State is a pretty good team. They are usually primed to take down a decent power 5 every now and then.

Granted Jackson st played UCF and Miss st tough. They lost to K St by 40 and Oregon st by 20. My point is simply Miss St is by no means a top 25 team even at full strength. I think 10-6 is their ceiling in conference play

They have a favorable schedule, only playing Carolina, Tennessee and LSU one. The last two at home. They play UK twice. I believe Massey may have their projected schedule as the worst in the conference, so they will need to do well in SEC play.

very bright young lady & another great future addition to the program . hoping for a full & healthy recovery for her.

Great interview and very delightful person. A few things that stood out.

-Looks like she should be back to normal health wise by Spring/Summer of next year

-Adhel considered Tennessee early in her recruiting process and thought USC was too elite for her. 15 years ago no one would ever think the tables with flip between our two programs like this.

-Just like Joyce she is willing to play whatever position and do whatever to be successful on this team. I really liked that she is already conscious on where she wants improve in her game, specifically perimeter defense and expanding her offensive game.

Update of Maya Nnaji a former Gamecock target. She's going all in to becoming a doctor.

How can you do anything but applaud her. Calling… Vocation… A vision of what your life is supposed to be.

Ray Kinsella: “To be that close to your dream and not touch it. Most men would consider that a tragedy.”

Doc “Moonlight” Graham: “No son, to have been a doctor for only five minutes… that would have been a tragedy.

Over her 16 years here Dawn Staley has had 2 maybe 3 players who didn’t or couldn’t “get it”as human beings and being a part of team. Kelsey Bone didn’t get it while she was here and transferred to A&M. To her credit, under Gary Blair she got it figured out. Bianca and Mad Kiki struggled at times but got it. Look at all those that transferred out, they left over playing time and did really well at their next place. Only one truly bad actor here in 16 years and DS still refuses to speak her name.

Coach Staley has been masterful at assessing talent and character. We are so spoiled by the women that represent “OUR TEAM”.

Not promising too much early aggrandizement and being able to attract them anyway is a key.
