I wish there was a way to watch online. That is a primo matchup.
You get those type of matchups in HS tournaments this time of year. Watched Talaysia Cooper go up against Fulwiley in a similar tournament a couple years ago. Saw then that Cooper was a nice player, but Fulwiley was on another level. Clearly outplayed Cooper as an 11th Grader.

Well it seems that both had great games. Sarah Strong with 31 pts and 17 rebounds (7 3’s 👀)
Joyce had 27 points and 9 rebounds

Sarah’s team won 58-54

I wonder if we're still recruiting Strong hard? Tac at Center, Edwards at PF and Strong at SF/W would be a powerful front court.....Strong being able to shoot the 3's like she did tonight makes the argument that there is room for both her and Joyce on the floor together.

Well our whole staff was there including half of the team. That could have all been for Joyce but maybe it was for both. Supposedly there was a UConn asst coach there as well.

I would love, love I say to have Strong in Columbia! I just don’t see her coming here with our stacked front court. We have 6 players who play the 4&5 on the roster for next season. This is with Cardoso going to the draft and no one entering the portal. If she came here it’s an all star front court with limited minutes. Anywhere else she starts, plays 25-30 minutes a game and is a star from day one.

Personally I think her style of play is an excellent fit with UConn. The rub is UConn at least in my eyes is a program on a down slope. It is also a program that emphasizes guard play. The only front court player that they have truly developed to play in the WNBA since Breanna Stewart is Aaliyah Edwards.

I just don’t want her going to LSU.

By the time Edwards, Tac, and possibly (wishful thinking) Strong get here, the front court we have will be Seniors....Nope, we need Strong.

In the end she may choose UCONN but I'm still banking on her mom wanting her to play for Dawn. It would be awful to see her choose LSU or UNC.

Watkins and Chloe are just sophomores.

Watched a bit of East Carolina. They are the exact opposite of Bowling Green -- good on defense; not much offense. They lead the nation in their opponents turning the ball over. They will try and turn the game into a chaotic mess by pressing non-stop.

We were kind of sloppy with the turnovers against Duke and Utah, so it's something we can work on in this game. The Pirates are nowhere close to Duke and Utah on offense, though.

Hopefully Chloe can build on her last game. She should be able to get on the offensive glass against this team.

Convincing 73-36 win against East Carolina on the Pirates' home floor, to shake off the holiday dust/rust (which looks very sparkly and fairy-dusty, by the way) and get the season started back up. The Gamecocks improved to 12-0. Cardoso and Fulwiley led a balanced scoring with 12 pts each: Kamilla added 10 rebounds, and Milaysia added 9 boards of her own. Conference play kicks off next Thursday at Florida in Gainesville.....

Only negative was free throw shooting. It was atrocious.

So they will be Juniors...Feagin, Cordosa, Walker will be gone...I go back to what I originally said...we NEED Strong to go along with Tac and Edwards.

On the Tarheel board, they were all in an uproar as Dawn and the team showed for the big game between Edwards and Strong. No UNC coach showed up. Some were even saying it's due to them showing up just for Edwards, WRONG!!! It was for Strong also.

In the State newspaper, it was mentioned that Joyce is recruiting Sarah to come to Carolina. Joyce wants her here too.

I hope Dawn and the coaches show up in Raleigh for Sarah's games this season.

I'm sure we're recruiting her, but as @winloseortie pointed out, it doesn't make much sense for her. A lot of 3's can shoot from the perimeter. What makes her special is she can do it so well from the 4.

Joyce was smart to commit when she knew she wanted to be a Gamecock to get ahead of Strong's decision.

LSU is going to kill us. That redneck coach of theirs is brilliant. She set this whole “world against us” with the early season drama, and it looks like the team is gelling. They will be a juggernaut. She may be a dime store queen according to some weirdos on here, but she is playing chess.

Which part of them blowing out a 2-9 team currently ranked 275 in the NET screams playing chess. ECU who we played today is 69 in the NET rankings, which would be LSU's 3rd highest rated opponent on their non conference schedule had they play them. The team still managed to beat ECU by a similar margin that LSU did to Jacksonville an objectively way worse team.

Sakima Walker has already stated she is coming back for next year. In fact she said that when she signed with us. Feagin will also be back. Only Cardoso graduates this year

Earlier this recruiting cycle you were absolutely obsessed with Arianna Roberson coming here. She had no interest in us, had no connection to us and had never visited here. It was less than a month before Signing Day and we just had to start recruiting her.

You seem equally obsessed with Strong who for months has shown no interest in us. I am sure DS is recruiting her, she hasn’t signed so why not pursue her. It is clear she is looking elsewhere. Strong would be a must get for every program in the country, but we are a team that will excel whether she comes here or not. We are stacked at her position and once again she has showed no interest in us in months.

Just because you love a player’s game doesn’t mean they share your passion for us.

ECU was a quad 1 victory on the road for us. Jacksonville was a home quad 4 victory for LSU.

LSU has played only 3 power 5 teams, with one being a loss and another by 3 points to a less than stellar Virginia team. The rest have been cupcakes of all cupcakes. Try doing a little more than just looking at the box scores my friend.

re: LSU box scores : KM also presses & plays her starters deep into games against inferior competition to pad stats & score. Up almost 50 last night against Jacksonville, Reese, Morrow, Williams, & HVL were all playing well into the 4th quarter. Juxtapose that with SC against E Carolina; Cardoso, Hall, Paopao all sat the entire 4th, which is normally the case in SC blowouts

LSU has a talented starter group but will barely go 7 deep this year in conference play. They are not a great 3 pt. shooting team and can be turnover prone. While they can bully and out physical the cupcakes KM schedules in the non-con, that will not be the case against SC. With it being on the road/hostile environment, the game will be a tough contest, and if we play poorly, we could lose. but kill us ? troll on .

No team will "kill" us this year. The team that concerns me most, however, is UCLA. They match our height and seem to be relatively deep. Watched them vs So. Cal last night and should have blown them out. They built up large leads at the beginning of both halves but were never able to put them away. Conditioning appeared to be an issue to me but I am not familiar enough with their program to say that definitively.

I don't care about any other team except Florida right now. They beat Michigan, on the road, recently and the Wolverines beat Ohio State yesterday. So the Gators have the potential to play well. I haven't seen enough of them playing to give an assessment. Hoping to watch some of their previous games this week.

Edit to add: apparently the Florida/Michigan game was played in Charlotte
