Depends on what you mean by accepted. Accepted that they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect? Certainly. I'd say we're mostly already there.
Mostly already there?
Someone hasnt paid attention to the state legislative agendas this past winter. Its been a straight roll back and trans is vilified more now than just a few years ago.

You can accuse someone of being triggered so why can’t I?
Of course you can do that. I just hadnt heard the term be used as a response to someone who was calmly responding to someone who was triggered.
That term, up to now, has really only been used for the 1st response to something.

But yeah, you do you. Go expand the meaning of that term!

This makes no sense, because what they did would not have been noticed by anyone not viewing this person's Tik Tok. I don't even have a Tik Tok, do you? How the hell is this a face tattoo?

The only logical conclusion here is that the Tucker bigots don't think trans people should be advertised to at all, even quietly on their own media. They should be disappeared.

3 of my older daughters have it, unfortunately, but that's irrelevant. Do you honestly believe the only people who had heard of Dylan Mulvaney before this latest episode were his TikTok followers? That's why Nike and Bud Light and Tampax and a makeup company hired him as a spokesperson? That they willingly associated with this weirdo ONLY to grab his followers as new customers... not to make a political statement and because he is in everyone's face these days? Mmm hmm, sure you do.

"They should be disappeared"? No, not at all. It's the opposite of a libertarian's view and most center/right-leaning people don't want to exterminate anyone. That's not something rational people say. It's a trope the media would like you to believe, but it's just not even remotely true (at least about those in the center and right.) People like me would rather just be left alone. Quit shoving it in my face. Keep selling beer to gay people (who cares), keep having drag shows (just not on public streets where kids are), keep publishing all the gay porn books you can *ahem* read (just keep them out of elementary schools) and in general just leave me and my kids out of it. It really shouldn't be that difficult.

But people from the other side of the aisle just can't help themselves, apparently. They are the ones demanding attention and actively peddling various aspects of their lifestyle to children, until people who would rather be left alone (like me) are driven to respond. That's where the face tattoo analogy came from.

This is completely incorrect.

"In a review of 27 studies involving almost 8,000 teens and adults who had transgender surgeries, mostly in Europe, the U.S and Canada, 1% on average expressed regret. For some, regret was temporary, but a small number went on to have detransitioning or reversal surgeries, the 2021 review said." Source
They are relying on transactivist groups for these results. But, let me rephrase it in a way that better reflects what I meant to say. Most teens with gender dysphoria turn out to be gay in adulthood. They aren't trans and shouldn't be given endocrine disrupters or have their genitals sliced apart until they're adults and can make their own decisions. And here's the key quote involving "adults": "Dutch research from several years ago found no evidence of regret in transgender adults who had comprehensive psychological evaluations in childhood before undergoing puberty blockers and hormone treatment." Comprehensive childhood evaluations first then surgery in adulthood.

Trans people will be generally accepted in about 25 years— by that time many of us who post in this message board will be dead.

And it’ll be this way largely because the Trans folks are making the libertarian argument that a lot of people here like to make and that’s going to irritate the so-called “libertarians” who are just interested in power and make them seem to be anti-freedom.

(Edit to add: I had written something much longer— mostly in response to the “breaking point” phrase but decided it was too longwinded. Let’s just say I despise the breaking point argument due to my experiences dealing with people who aren’t accommodating to folks on the spectrum.)
Not if they're still demanding to use a women's restroom when they're dudes or demanding to compete with girls. That **** will never be acceptable. Now, give them a tranny shi tter and chics with dicks league, and maybe so. Who wouldn't watch the tranny Olympics? RuPauling a hammer toss could be awkward.

Reread (or just read?) the post you are responding to and then cite (even wikipedia) identifying where they have attempted to carry out any political assassination or political violence and/or caused tens of millions of dollars in damages. Who is the proud boy James Hodkinson or Nicholas Roske?
I know this won't convince you but there are groups that actually do research on right-wing versus left-wing violence. Sure, there is some left-wing violence but the majority is always right wing. Over the last 10 years, 96% of all partisan-related violence is from the right:

"Data released by the ADL last week shows the reality. Over the past decade (the period included in YouGov’s poll), 96 percent of incidents in which extremists killed someone were committed by people motivated by right-wing ideologies. More than three-quarters of the resulting deaths — 335 of 444 — were linked to right-wing actors."

Here's the research paper that the quote uses.

And all that property damage that people love to point to back in 2020... a lot of it was actually committed by white nationalists trying to disguise themselves as BLM. Here's an example.

Here's another.

Here's where the Trump administration admits it.

You must not watch any TV. Every show, movie and commercial has multiple LGBT+ people and themes to it
Well people in this world and who watch movies, shows, and commercials are LGBTQIA+ yada yada.
Having representation in entertainment hardly seems like something I should fight back against.

Same goes for women in shows and movies- having meaningful dialogue.
Race/culture is the same- people like to see themselves represented on screen.
There is a reason why things like the Mako Mori test and the Bechdel test exist.

Funny how those who were triggered over real women on syrup bottles and butter packages don't understand those being triggered over a fake woman on a beer can.
Go find the dozen threads from triggered posters wanting Jemima or Butterworth or whoever it was canceled. I'll wait. There's a theme on this board if you haven't noticed...

How much of my post did you actually read?

And kids are definitely not being left out of it. People are pushing for explicit sexual material to be available to elementary school students. They are pushing for kids at drag shows. They are pushing for men to be able to use the same restrooms as young girls. They are pushing for adolescent boys to be able to use the same bathrooms and showers as adolescent girls. That is not leaving children out of it.
I read all of your post.

Kids were absolutely left out of the Bud Light sponsored content on Dylan's channel/post. There was no mention of kids and kids were not in the ad. You seem to really want to combine this sponsorship example with more, but I will continue to insist you actually stick to reality.
It is flat out stupid for anyone to take issue with the Dylan sponsored content example just because they dislike a couple of books possibly being in a school library. You want to make the two things the same, but they arent. Its straight dumb to make them the same because they are fundamentally different.

No kids were involved in the Bud Light advertisement, so complaining about kids not being left out is nuts.

I have no idea who he is, so it's next to impossible for me to say. But I would bet that those companies were interested in making money.

You're actually confirming my view re "disappeared". I don't think most righties want them exterminated (though many would, and many more would dissemble and ignore it happening right in front of them). What I think is they don't want to have to see them, and are fine with state power being used to accomplish that.

Agreed on genital removal. But what about non-permanent medical care that the experts recommend? You favor state power banning non-permanent medical care for minors that the child, parents, and experts all recommend?

I'm mostly with you on this. Though I think for sports where competition is not key, say rec leagues or intramurals or whatever, then it should be fine. Though even there there's room for compromise. I don't think a guy that puts on a wig should be able to play with females, but someone receiving medical treatment probably should, non-competitvely.

The flip side of this is the real impact on individuals who have real medical conditions, and in these cases usually concurrent mental trauma. Is excluding them what's best for them? What does it say of us if we choose competition over their well being? I fall on thse side of SOL as I do on most things, it's a tough world and we can't make it sunshine and happiness for all, but I would completely understand someone falling on the other side of that dilemma.

The part of this still obscured is how the doctors who know more about this than any of us all say that this is just how these people are, how they are wired, for whatever reason, and just denying it and forcing them to live other than as they are causes deep mental trauma and leads to bad outcomes, with high suicide rates in particular. Im not surprised the Ivermectin crowd wouldn't care, but it seems there's many that would never be in the Ivermectin crowd but don't realize the medical community's stance.
My comment about trans girls was specific to high school sports, which are competitive.
I am fully on board with a rec league having their own rules and allowing coed or trans situations. A youth volleyball league my kids played in between 4th and 6th grades allowed boys and there were usually 2 or so boys(out of 16 teams and 150 kids). At that age, their hand-eye coordination is often better, but they arent physically more dominant and the game is largely played evenly. Cool- that works.

I have worked with a few trans kids thru a mentorship program I help run. They were teens at the time and transitioning. All were measurably weaker during transition and after, compared to their strength before(all were trans girls). This is related to cycling as the at risk teem mentorship program was based around cycling. We moved Heaven and Earth to ensure the kids felt safe and supported because they were all awesome kids who we knew before the transitions and they continued to be awesome kids after. I am totally on board with accepting and the delicate balance that is needed for ensuring they fit in without drawing attention.
The non-competitive program was perfect for them as a result.

The answer will be unisex restrooms will become much more common.

25 deaths in 2022 by extremists. That's less than a month in Chicago. Right-wing extremists are dangerous and do shoot straight but in a nation of 330 million that's not a lot. The ADL is an advocacy group. Treat it with a bit of suspicion

I have not looked at this research paper, but every one I've ever seen has been crap. I will look at this when I have time.

But even for the non-crappy aspects, people are mostly hanging onto trying to classify white supremacist/nazi groups as "right-wing". And that just has no relation to US politics.

Indeed. However I'm speaking to the grievances aired in this local pack. There's a theme to political threads offered here and among those who who are dumb enough to respond and reply every time (raises hand). Same 5-10 get angry about some conservative cause or cancellation. Same 5-10 folks have to hump a doorknob with them. Maybe the left leaning folks should start a stupid thread every other day and finally get politics banned here.

If it was just the worst offending books that slipped into a library, you'd have my support. But it's not. Conservatives don't want anything they disagree with to be taught. That's the endgame. And I'm not on board with that. You?.
There are no actual history books being banned. Only those that promote modern day political views like reparations and CRT. And yes, PORN. And what's your opinion on "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"?

Again(3rd time?), you are bringing unrelated issues into this discussion. Being upset over Bud Light paying Dylan to push beer, because a 2nd grade teacher in Ohio talked to her class about ***** identities, is flat out nuts.
Be upset over the things that are upsetting. Transferring that outrage onto something like this Bud Light issue is misdirected.
