On another note, what does everyone think about the game tonight? This is another one I know we should win but I'm very nervous that Tenn is going to finally put a game together against a top 10 team :/

I'm always nervous though!!! Someone talk me off the ledge!
1. We match up better with UT than OM
2. They still don’t have a reliable PG. They are a turnover waiting to happen. They had 30 vs Ohio state!!
3. After Jackson and Horston, who scores? Darby? Sure she is a great shooter, but she’s also a statue.
4. UT has found a way to fail in every significant game they have played this season
5. If they play man who guards Boston? Cardoso? If they play zone, they will get killed on the offensive glass.

I like this matchup better than OM and think we win by 15ish

I'm fine with the 6 weeks out. What I'm not fine with, is that a player that is concussion prone literally has scare with a collision to the head and instead of getting it properly evaluated, they put her back in the game. I just don't like where this is headed.
That’s why I added the last paragraph, I fear Ducharme will probably need to medically retire

Not disagreeing with you, but who is the fourth #1 seed? This is the rest of the top 10, not one of them shouts #1 seed.

Uconn 5 Ls? Iowa 6Ls? LSU only 1 but an embarrassing schedule, add in their only top 25 game they got humiliated? Maryland
5 Ls? Utah 3 Ls but a weak out OOC? VT & ND 4Ls?
Well, conversely, which of those OTHER teams could expect such preferential treatment?

Well🤷‍♂️🤣? I believe LSU has gotten preferential treatment with their schedule. You can make a case for 5 or 6 teams getting the last spot.

I am by no means a UConn fan, but I thought they deserved the #1 seed up until the St. John's loss. They have the #1 SOS in the country and their overall record was pretty good and even played a close game with us.

Maryland makes the most sense to replace them as of now. There's a lot more parity this season so I wouldn't surprised if we see a repeat of 2016 where all #1 seeds fall before the FF except for us.

My gut tells me this is a potential lost. However, my brain can't justify that conclusion. The Vols have played us well the last 3 years thanks mainly to the presence of Tamari Key.

Key and Cameron Brink give us the most trouble out of all the players we face regularly. What are easy buckets against most teams are not so easy against Key and Brink.

Without Key, the Vols are only 12th in the SEC in blocked shots. In the end, I think we will simply get more easy shots than UT.

I'm excited for the Tennessee game tonight. I'm less concerned than I was going into the Ole Miss game. Considering how close our last game was, I expect we won't be coming out slow like we normally are on the road.

Tennessee is playing some good ball and the pieces are coming together but I believe they we'll be too much for them. They'll need Horston and Jackson to remain on the floor for the full 40 minutes and remain out of foul trouble and j don't see it happening. There's a few other players that can make something happen (Hollingshead, Walker and Darby) but the key of how competitive this game will likely still largely depend on their two biggest stars.

I imagine that both coaches will be looking at how we played vs Mississippi and adjust accordingly.

But ESPN et al ain't gonna be pitching for at least four of the six, and maybe five, not to the extent they will for UConn. I think they're done in terms of a #1 seed, but I ain't the boys in Bristol and New York.

Gamecocks win 73-60! Clinch a share of the SEC regular-season title.

Zia Cooke led the way with 19 pts. Kierra Fletcher had a season high of 15 pts. Brea Beal had her 2nd career double-double with 11 pts 11 rebounds, and led the team with 5 assists........

Once again not doubling pays off. Jackson and Horston got theirs, but the only other player to step up for UT was Striplin. Darby is kind of useless when teams don't double. Credit to Zia for not losing her in transition.

Good subtle move by Dawn to sub Saxton for Beal at the end on the inbound pass. The extra length lead to a bad pass and Boston steal.

Fletcher played her best game as a Gamecock. She hit some clutch shots including two key 3 pointers

Inside game with Boston and Cardoso in the line up together has really opened up the 3pt opportunities and our shooters have really delivered. Combined with Cooke's driving ability, it makes us very tough to defend.

Miss St putting it to Ark. IF it holds up Ark vs Mizzou in the #8-#9 game. We get the winner

Arky had a terrible conference season against every team except Mizzou. The Hogs beat them badly both times.

Charlie Creme has both teams in his first four out. Not looking good for either team if they need a win against us to make the tournament.

Just so much talent on this team. Fletcher had her best game as a Gamecock. If one of our players is having an off game someone else always seems to step up....
Along those lines......Tennessee's Harper; "Fletcher changed the game".

Did I see on the ESPN scroll that Brea was the #7 pick in the WNBA mock draft?
Yeah, I can honestly see it. The Indiana Fever, the team Destiny Henderson is on and likely the destination for Boston, GM has stated last season she was looking for 3 and D players to compliment her team. Last year they ended up with Lexie Hull but I think Beal would be a better fit, especially if she can keep up the 40% shooting from 3.

UT
LSU last season
UConn X2 last 2 seasons
Stanford X2 last 2 seasons
??
Be interesting to see how many times this teams have lost after leading by 10 points or more
Naming those other two games is a challenge. I know for sure we were down by more than 10 points two years ago against A&M and lost that one, so the other two games happened after the final regular season game of 2020-2021.

We were down 10 against Kentucky earlier this season. We won the game by 29.

That leaves one more game.
