For all the good JF has done for the program (and I’m willing to give him due credit), he’s also grifted millions from the university via multiple manufactured media campaigns that vastly exaggerating the demand for his services. Truth. I went to another CFB game yesterday and just checked the score of the Penn State game periodically. After seeing how non-competitive we were against OSU despite the score, I knew that I didn’t need to watch the Michigan debacle.It’s not all bad with Franklin. At least we know what we’re going to get. Leaves the stressing and guessing out of it.
In order for Penn State to compete against top teams, James Franklin needs to gain self-awareness and commit to being much better. I’m seeing no sign of that happening in the near term. It is too bad, because otherwise he had a real chance of becoming the first black coach to win a natty.

So posters want Franklin gone because he can’t win games where the other team has more talent, but they want to replace him with guys who can’t win games where the other team has more talent…got it.
His buyout is greater than Franklins. He’ll be buying cars, not selling them.
Nobody has ever argued Franklin should win every single game where maybe PSU has the less talented team. But they shouldn't lose every, single, one, with the same boneheaded decisions, for years on end. 3-17 vs top 10, 1-12 in the past 7 years (snuck the one in where players opted out). Keep telling yourself that's fine and he's doing great.
Barry needs to get us a win. This is why we voted for him. We deserve this.

Michigan and PSU are evenly matched talent-wise - at least on paper. In fact PSU has a higher blue chip ratio than Michigan. Difference is, IMO, better coaching/development at Michigan and they recruit better on the DL. Harbaugh for all his faults knows how to cultivate and maintain a team chemistry/identity.
I look what he started with and where he took Temple in 4 years, then what he started with and where he took Baylor in 3 years and it seems he's pretty good at building a talented roster. Now, I also won't pretend I know how those Temple and Baylor teams compared to their opponents on the talent front those years, and he also seemed to lose his biggest games at Baylor, even in his best year. And it very well may be that he couldn't do any better than Franklin, I don't know. But I do know what Franklin's ceiling is, so I'm willing to try something else.
