Hey Franklin haters, is a playoff game a big game? Win or go home. Elimination. Season ends.

And, of course, your kids are pro laxers and you've coached them and others to many college and pro championships.
Son1 was one of only 4 freshman who traveled with the State club team and actually won the natty freshman year. He was also awarded NJ HS all state attackman and won both leading scorer and the academic awards his senior year. Cabrini wanted him and this would have been his senior year:
i have no doubt he would have started on this team for 2-3 years.
any other questions?
2 was a Chicago area All Star senior year and team captain and academic stand out

Do you know what “moving the goalpost” means? Because this is it. Right here. You just did it.

So, you didn't coach them to even make it to college. Much like your trips, your cars and your retirement, it's all theoretical coulda, shoulda, woulda. Sad. But you keep telling us how 3-17 beat Blue Hens Franklin isn't cutting it, as we're in the playoffs ... and we'll keep laughing at you.

Psst … Cabrini doesn’t even exist anymore. And I had never heard of it before you brought it up. Sad.

I do, and I didn't. Do you know what "running into the goalpost headfirst" means? Because you just did it.

Your entire point rested on accusing other people of being in no position to criticize because they’re not coaches. Then someone crushed that point by saying, “I’m a coach,” at which point you moved the goalpost to, “pRoVe yOu’Re suCceSsFuL aT iT!”

A textbook example of moving the goalpost.

In one fell swoop, you moved the goalpost, claimed you know what that terms means, then proved beyond all doubt that you have no idea what it means, then followed it up with a childish insult because you have no substantive argument.

Sometimes graciously accepting defeat is the only way to save face.

My “entire point” is to continue mocking laKa for his ridiculous position re Franklin.

He wasn’t an actual coach - he was a volunteer dad. And it wouldn’t matter in the least if he was a coach.

He attacks Franklin without logic. I mess with him because everyone knows he’s a joke.

And you ran into the goalpost headfirst again. You should get that checked out.

If someone has never coached, please explain to me how they know coaching?
Gee I’m not a carpenter but I can pound a nail - I am not saying I am a coach but I can spot mistakes once in a while and even coaches will admit errors now and again.

I’m critical of big game Jim cause of the numbers, in this case 3-17. The numbers aren’t made up, I read them on espn page

"Birth" and "berth" are 2 different words. And they mean very different things. Our board standard is basic literacy. You are failing to meet that standard.

Phrasing things in this manner ... that the "goal" is a Natty, and not obtaining that goal is a failure, is childish Veruca Salt nonsense. Otherwise, Penn State football has been a colossal failure in 135 of its 137 years of existence. So, by that measure, the PSU standard is failure. Thus, Franklin would be a success at reaching the PSU standard.

Yes, every team wants to win it all - that's their "goal." But it doesn't mean the coach, or the team, is a failure if that goal isn't reached. It's more like a dream, than a goal, but when you're competing, you can't phrase it that way.

We don't consider it a success if we win a Natty, then go 1-11 for 10-15 straight years ... and we don't expect to win a Natty every year. So, the reasonable, mature way to look at this is to create a goal of being competitive for a top spot, most years. Now you'll whine that this is setting the bar low and other childish rantings, but that's the reality.
Very well reasoned and rationale commentary.... are you sure you belong here? :ROFLMAO:

Old timers will recall that through 1994 we were in the natty mix pretty much every 4 years since the late 1960s

After the 1982 national championship, people were by and large happy with that

I feel blessed to have been in college in 1986....what a season, especially after the disappointment of losing to those steroid boys from Norman, OK the year before

I can't believe this purposely divisive thread has garnered 216+ responses.

I'm thinking of going over to the old board to resurrect the MOAT.

Ah, yes. After your argument has been annihilated, then pivot to, "I wasn't trying to make a real argument!" then repeat your feeble insult because you know you look foolish.

Man, you're bad at this.

My dad didn't get paid for coaching my LIttle League team, but he was still the coach. A lot of coaches at the pre-HS level are unpaid volunteers. They're still coaches, as any player or parent will tell you.

I think that the problem is you're attempting to establish an absurd standard for which people are "allowed" to level criticism.

Just because someone isn't a paid professional in a particular vocation doesn't mean they don't possess expert-level knowledge of that subject.

3-17 is not ok. It’s a pattern of failure. Stacking wins against blue hens carry no weight
This is correct. But some fans believe leveling legitimate criticism at the thing they love disqualifies you from being a fan. They demand to be gatekeepers and you have to play by their rules or else you're out of the club.

My argument? I'm mocking him, scooby.

No one cares that he was, or was not a coach! Holy crap. Are you special?

Marshall is the guy who believes you can't criticize coaches if you aren't a coach. Go take your mindless ranting and raving to him, scrappy doo. I mock Marshall for that view, as well.

laKa is an absolute joke on this site, and I'm having fun with him. He's a crazed Franklin-hater. Sleep it off, nutter butter.

Your pattern of periodic online rage apparently hasn't gone unnoticed by esteemed scientists at Harvard.

Are you familiar with Harvard?

I get it now. I just assumed their posts were "non-existent".

If I need to start ignoring people, I'm doing the internet wrong.
I know fun right? People are so f ing serious which makes me laugh. For example, I think 3-17 in real games is a terrible record, but it’s just my opinion. Others may find 3-17 v big boys a ok. Boom, 45 second exchange of opinion, on to the next

That's the "beauty" of the internet... opinions are now wrong and that is unforgivable.
