Hey Franklin haters, is a playoff game a big game? Win or go home. Elimination. Season ends.

The only thing I know is the last 2 years he hasn't lost to anyone outside of the top 5. He's not a top 5 paid coach. PSU isn't in the top 10 for NIL overall and all of the post NIL recruiting classes are ranked lower than 10 which probably has something to do with the statue worshipers thinking they are showing everyone else something. So the answer to the question is are we being robbed currently with him as the HC or is he doing what/more than what's expected? IMO PSU is in a good spot overall healthwise, but PSU needs to take the next step in recruiting. tOSU, Oregon, Bama/SEC will outbid PSU for quite a few recruits. If PSU had tOSU's WR room this year, I think we would be the favorite for the MNC to be honest, but it's a big glaring hole.

I saw people on this site putting Fickel, Whittingham, Riley....and a ton of other coaches above him in terms of doing more with less. At this point PSU has fans who think we are MNC or bust(which is a good thing), but don't want to pay for that so they complain like it's the case. Bad coaches don't win all the games they are supposed to....no matter how badly people want to spin it. There is no perfect HC nor was their ever a perfect HC. Some programs don't just pretend they want to win....they actually go out and do it in the school and with the support. PSU has been dragged forward by JF with a portion of the fanbase kicking and screaming because like little children their idol got tarnished and they just want to cry about it and be heard. Just last week we had a bot bragging how the old guard is holding up their support from this program and coach...which is their right, but it doesn't mean they cannot be called out for it too.
I think this is fair.

With that logic I can say I never made a mistake in my life - just decisions that were stupid but not a mistake because they just didn't work out. Coaches absulutely do make mistakes which litterally anyone can see- and all coaches worth a damn have admitted that afterwards including Franklin.
And many of those “mistakes” work out. Here’s the deal, often they end up being mistakes because a player or players don’t execute the way they’re supposed to, so is that a mistake by the coach or the players?

Saying coaches make mistakes is like saying water is wet and you needed to jump in to prove it. The rest of the world realized this already but here people act like they invented fire or a coach is on the hot seat over it. Every coach EVER has made mistakes.

People need to zoom out and realize where PSU is currently, not where they were in 1986.
I had to go back and so who posted this so they could get a gold star next to their name on my wall.

Penn State has a good team and we the fanbase are all having fun watching some bonus football, right? Or maybe whining on a message board. Either way...

We are now (firmly) in the era of pay to win. If you think the results (4-17) aren't meeting your expectations, write the check and help out directly. Largest dues-paying alumni base in the world etc etc.

That is true, but many posters don’t realize that not every mistake is the coach’s fault. Also, what some think are mistakes others think are not, so who’s right?

So what do you seriously think a new coach’s record would be on average every year?
LOL, he uses coaches that don't exist or would never coach at PSU as his made up theory. Pure genius on his part. Say something that will never occur and then run with it like it's a reality which in his delusional world this is what he would do. He is the doofus in the outfield in Major League yelling too high. The dude isn't close to losing his job, is under a long term contract, and is a game from making it to the final 4....and here we still have people rowing in the opposite direction.

As a doubter, I’m expecting P$U to beat O$U in the championship game in Atlanta and Franklin becomes the first championship coach of color! It’s all aligning. The good guys win! Get ready for the parade to the palace to kiss the ring…

That's mostly true. PSU recruiting has been around 15th except for the 6th ranked class of 2022.

It's still difficult to get over the big 4th quarter leads vs OSU that ended with 1 pt losses. Same with USC in the Rose Bowl.
Losing 4th quarter leads is virtually unheard of.

Anyone who makes decisions, makes mistakes. The BWICAC has never made a mistake. They are omniscient and omnipotent. That's why WE DESERVE BETTER!
As fans we have the right to ***** and moan....its not like we're in the playoffs or something.
At least 6 more years!

Everyone here would do better than James. They all could be remarkably successful D1 coaches and make10 million per year. It's just that they choose not to.

Since we've won all of two in well over 100 years, sure- why not demand that that is our "standard"?
By vote. How many undefeated teams did we have that were “uncrowned”. (Hint: more than the rest of CFB combined)? How many PSU teams could legitimately claim to being the best? Quite a few. More than 2…many more.

Who has the better winning percentage in the B1G TEN?
I have no idea. Franklin has done well in recent years but he was 7-6 in 2014, 2015, and 2021. He was 4-5 in 2020. You might claim he wasn't responsible for what he inherited (I agree) and he wasn't responsible for Covid years (I disagree).

Why do you ask the question?

Does that (without any legit WRS) and he will rightfully be PSU HFC as long as he wants.
