I think we just set the calendar back one year ... or was it ahead?

I dunno ... we have a tradition with PSU sports of having "season" threads, and then continuing to use that thread for offseason discussions.

Pro sports we've been inconsistent We seem to have followed the above approach most years. However, that have been offseason threads for some teams.

Not a big deal to me either way

no biggie, and FTR I am wrong, I thought we had started an Iggles 2022 thread, and then switched back to 2021 thread . I couldn't find the 2022 thread so I am wrong.

Former Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin and his 'Make The World Better' foundation had to raise at least $100,000 by the end of 2021 and Jason Kelce will perform the national anthem at a Sixers game. It happened and it was glorious.

why do you assume this?
Just a lot of rumors flying around that teams might pay top trade value for him. I'd personally hate to see it, but just have seen some reports on it like this one:

The Eagles would like to have guard Nate Herbig back for the 2022 season, but they won’t be getting any draft pick compensation if another team should sign him away as a restricted free agent.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Eagles have tendered Herbig at the lowest level for restricted free agents. Herbig was undrafted out of Stanford, so the original round tender means the Eagles will have the right to match any offer sheet that comes his way but won’t get anything if he winds up leaving

They could trade him and then draft one of the Georgia DT's. Jordan Davis would look pretty good in the middle of that line. At least for a couple of downs.

Yes he would! Guess we’ll see. Could also easily see the Eagles not getting whatever trade assets they’re looking for to move Cox.

Given Cox’s age, salary and relative drop in production the past two years, I don’t think they’ll get a ton for him.

Maybe a conditional 3/4. That doesn’t excite me given they’re trying to get better on DL this year.

Cox’ salary has outstripped his pay level. He has been a great player but may be slowing down …

I'd rather have Cox then a 3rd or 4th round draft choice. He pouted a bit at the beginning of the year, but played much better down the stretch.

I wouldn’t be upset at a Milton Williams/Hargrave starting DT tandem. Then find quality depth and draft a DT. I’d like that rotation

I don’t know how I feel about this. I mean on one hand I occasionally youtube and listen to Reese and Quick’s Super Bowl victory call. Still gives me chills. He IS the voice of the eagles. On the other hand, he’s been losing a step or 2 the last season or 2. Quick has to correct him a lot.

Now Howie’s got this through 2025.

He gets a lot of flack and rightfully so, but he does make some really good deals outside of the draft. I’d LOVE to see him cede draft control to someone and only focus on current roster deals and moves.

Wouldn't that have something to do with the spotters in the booth with them? Not sure if you ever saw video from the booth but they both have spotters handing them stuff. Still enjoy Merrill and glad he is sticking around.
